We don't think it, it's a fact and the constitutional court gave a judgment on it.

Wait for the fulls results. Analyse and look at the trends. Gain an understanding of why people vote the way they do. Who votes for who and why. Who doesn’t vote and why. Introspect on have you done about any of it outside of social media.
Then organise.

RISE Mzansi is here to offer South Africans a credible alternative, and we are encouraged by the support emerging from communities across the country.
Our National Chairperson, Vuyiswa Ramokgopa, reflects on our journey into local government elections, emphasising the importance of our growing track record, the communities that have shown up for us and the need for political alternatives that speak to the aspirations of South Africans.

South Africans take for granted the privilege of being able to cast a vote without the threat of intimidation and violence. The ANC got a lot wrong but certainly got democracy right. For that I'm truly thankful.

Having spent the last few months campaigning in townships, it’s literally just that people don’t see the point in voting.
They are despondent about the state of affairs and until their material conditions change, we’re going to experience an even further decline in turnout.
Replying to @baddaysareover
AND it seems like voter turnout was low in townships as well.
The reality is that we need to get our people to care about voting & maybe do better to understand why they’re not voting. Is transportation an issue? Are people not getting time off from work?

How can we expect meaningful regulation of gambling, or proper support for people experiencing gambling addiction, when gambling tycoons are funding the very political parties responsible for regulating the industry?
The conflict of interest is glaring.

Brett Herron reflects on voter turnout across Cape Town, highlighting the importance of participation in the Cape Flats and townships, where communities continue to raise concerns about housing, service delivery and failing infrastructure.
Every vote matters. When communities stay away from the polls, they leave decisions about their future in the hands of those who do participate. Meaningful change begins with making your voice heard.

Big things start small.
In my hood, the Democratic Alliance (DA) had no real competition, taking 7,769 of the 9,885 votes cast, a commanding 78.6 percent.
The surprise was the party in second place. Rise Mzansi, founded in 2023 and contesting local government elections for the first time, finished a distant second with 600 votes, or 6.1 percent.
That put the newcomer ahead of ActionSA on 476 votes and the African National Congress (ANC) on just 394.
Clearly, the people in my neighbourhood care about service delivery, not the social media noise and choreographed rage!

🎉 HAPPY BIRTHDAY, RASSIE ERASMUS! THE UNDISPUTED KING OF RUGBY TURNS 54 🇿🇦
Rassie Erasmus turns 54 today — 36 Tests as a Springbok flanker, every one of them as a starter, and then a coaching career that rewrote what South Africa expects from the green and gold.
Two World Cups. Three Rugby Championships. A Lions series. The Freedom Cup three years running. The most-capped Springbok head coach in history after passing Jake White's record at Loftus in July, a Gold Ikhamanga from the state in May, and a contract that runs all the way to 2031.
⸻
🗣️ "Thirty-six Tests and he started every single one of them. People forget Rassie was a serious player long before he was a serious coach!" – 🎙️Jay
⸻
And the detail most fans still don't know: he was on chemotherapy for a rare autoimmune disease before and during the 2019 World Cup, and the country only found out seven months after the trophy came home.

The @IECSouthAfrica is a solid, world class, professional, sober institution. For 32 years it has delivered a solid service to SA. It weathered the disinformation that the MK Party tried to throw at it in 2024 and continues to excel. This is an institution to be proud of. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Results from 18 local municipalities (7%) have been concluded at 09h00. In a comparative election in 2021 at the same time, only 7 municipalities were completed. The improved rate of
capturing is in spite of the increased lengths of ballot paper, higher number of contestants and higher rate of voter
participation.
