In March of 2013, Hal Finney published his iconic story “Bitcoin and me” on the BitcoinTalk forum.
He described being paralyzed by ALS and using an eye-tracking system to operate his computer. Programming bitcoin software had become much slower, but he was still doing it.
Hal was still contributing to the open-source bitcoin network, believing that bitcoin could help change the world.
He had worked on a small controller so he could adjust his wheelchair, and he was developing a bitcoin wallet security project. He described that project as nearly finished, apart from documentation.

🚨 Le malware SparkKitty a pénétré l'App Store et Google Play pour voler des cryptos
Check Point a publié dimanche un rapport sur SparkKitty, une famille de malwares qui scanne en continu la pellicule photo des téléphones infectés, avec de la reconnaissance de caractères (OCR), pour extraire seed phrases, mots de passe et données de QR codes.
Le malware transmet ensuite ces informations à des serveurs contrôlés par les attaquants.
Selon Check Point, SparkKitty est une évolution de SparkCat, un stealer déjà documenté par Kaspersky en 2025.
Sur iOS, le code malveillant était dissimulé dans l'application crypto "币coin", cachée dans des frameworks comme AFNetworking, ce qui lui a permis de passer la revue d'Apple.
Sur Android, l'application SOEX, présentée comme une messagerie et une plateforme d'échange crypto, a dépassé 10 000 téléchargements sur Google Play avant sa suppression.
Le malware circule aussi via :
- des APK piratés hors stores officiels
- des applications TikTok modifiées
- des apps de paris en ligne
Check Point conseille de ne jamais stocker une seed phrase en photo et de restreindre l'accès des applications à la pellicule
