We had the pleasure of touring Cub Foods in Cottage Grove this morning with the Minnesota Grocer's Association.
It was interesting to hear more about how public safety, taxes, and mandates drive up grocery prices.
These are all issues our campaign is focused on and will tackle in St. Paul.

This is an incredibly disturbing story out of Hastings. An 89-year-old woman was forced to flee her home after a man broke in and caused extensive damage.
We have a generally safe community. We should work to ensure it stays safe. I’m thankful for the Hastings Police Department officers who responded and worked to protect this woman.

It should come as no surprise. After spending years trying to navigate Minnesota's endless approval process, Mesabi Metallics — the company behind the first new iron mine in Minnesota in 50 years — has decided to build its $15 billion steel plant in Iowa instead of Minnesota.
1,750 permanent jobs. Gone to Iowa — plus another 5,000 construction jobs. Minnesota iron, mined in Minnesota, shipped away from Minnesota workers to be turned into steel in Iowa, because Democrat regulations, high taxes, and energy costs put a Minnesota plant at a competitive disadvantage.
They made the decision to grow in Iowa because Democrats in St. Paul would rather take 25% of nothing than 5% of something.

Governor Walz has proclaimed today as "Jason Fossum Day."
Jason passed away last week. He was a longtime Hastings resident and someone I have gotten to know over the years. Jason gave so much of himself to others, and our community is better because of him.

"When it comes to the war, and the increased prices that are a result of that, it is hurting Minnesotans, and I absolutely acknowledge that."
She then slammed Amy Klobuchar for voting against the Keystone XL Pipeline.
"That would have brought in over 830,000 barrels of crude oil a day. That would have made things more affordable here."
"It is time to put an end to that war," she added.
