Something that can be very practical if you get 3-5 other people to lock-in, is to rent a house in another city or country for 1-2 months… You all live and work together on your goals for those 30-60 days. You wake up at 5am or 6am Spend the first 60-90 minutes of the morning eating, doing self care and getting in a 30 minute workout. You lock in and do 2 deep work sessions 3 hours each, with 15 minute breaks every 90 minutes. By lunch, meaningful work has been done and you can all go out together and enjoy a meal for the next 2 hours. You and the crew talk shop… vent, encourage each other. You get in one last 90 minute work session for the day to setup the next day of work. Now it’s roughly 3 or 4pm local time and the day is truly done and you can just enjoy the place that you’re in and stay out until about 8 or 9pm, Come back decompress before bed and get in a solid 7-8 hours of sleep . Work 4 days a week like this and take - half day on day 5 with one deep work session and a 90 minute admin session to setup the next week. All done before 10-11 am. 2 full days off (weekend) I would recommend Japan, Puerto Rico, Thailand, Montana, Lake Tahoe, or Wilmington. Splitting cost 3-5 ways and eating meals together makes this wildly affordable and practical to do and long term rentals are cheaper. Hot Take… Everyone needs to stop telling Broke Beginners to compete on QUALITY AND EFFORT… because it’s BULLSHIT. If you work 40-50 hours a week and then have to take care of yourself and/or a family… Telling you to compete on Quality is ridiculous when the average large channel in your niche has 40 hours a week only dedicate to YouTube and a team that can put 200 hours into every upload. You have what? 10 hours, 20? And scraps energy from a left over job? Distracted work while you manage a chaotic life? Competing on Quality and Effort in that situation as a part time YouTuber is BULLSHIT… If you’re not a kid living off mommy and daddy in a stable suburb somewhere with unlimited free time to be a TRY HARD teenager… If you have a single scrap of real world struggle to overcome… It’s BULLSHIT. And I’m finally just unapologetically saying it because I’m tired of watching people struggle to chase the impossible standards of where people are… When their effort already usually beats their favorite creators broke beginning… And their favorite creator usually made 100-500 crappy videos to break 10K subs (MrBeast made 460 to get 10K subs) And they telling you not to post anything that isn’t a “viral banger”… When if they listened the BULLSHIT (well intentioned) advice they are giving you… they’d have quit and never had the change to learn… to grow… to be great… You HAVE to make 100 crappy videos if you lack time freedom, money, experience or people to help you… Because you have to do the best you can with what you have where you are. A lot of people who blow up with 100-500 videos have a starting on 3rd base backstory you’ll never hear about or they will never disclose. And it makes you feel inferior when it shouldn’t… So yeah UNTIL you’re almost full-time for most of you QUALITY over QUANTITY is in fact BULLSHIT… Because your circumstances and capacity cap how much “quality” you can hope to achieve… And by itself it’s not enough to conflate on… SMALL YOUTUBERS win on consistency… and being authentic and bringing something different to the table… For every million view video or million subscriber channel… Assume 20% of the audience, disagrees, is disenfranchised, or disappointed… There is where the gap an opportunity lies… Play to your strengths instead of chasing strengths you can’t win on in the first place. It’s not forever. Quality Over Quantity is PERFECT advice for a YouTuber who is full-time making $30,000 a month… It’s not good advice for a Working Class Creator making just over $30,000 a year on their job and losing money on every upload…

Views are down for a lot of people because ad block views are no longer counted, in addition to more adoption of Live Streaming and Shorts. 30% of DAILY users on YouTube are watching LIVE VIDEOS. That’s never happened before. Now combine that with 200B daily shorts views. Then remember that 30% of internet users were using Ad Blockers. Which YouTube no longer counts. Also big creators are being exposed for view botting, and are openly saying they pay for clipping services that drive viral traffic and searches on their long form content… Recalibrate your expectations around “good views” or “traction”. Most large view counts in entertainment are NOT organic, That should be clear. I’ve been saying for a long time this was not all organic and now we have proof. You’re making yourself sad because you’re lagging behind people who are rich, fake, or both… who have been astroturfed. If you get 1000 views on long form ORGANICALLY, you are beating 88% of all long form uploads that ever were posted to YouTube. 10,000 views is meaningful success on long form and should be the ONLY goal for the majority of Working Class Creators with 40-50 hour a week jobs. Especially if you’re a Solo Creator. Subscriber counts also are meaningless for views. They unlock features and they unlock brand deals. But that’s their only value. They don’t actually help you get substantially more views if you’re not famous. Your own analytics will show you that 50-80% of all of your lifetime views are from non-subscribers. If you get a 100K view video, most of those viewers will be first time viewers. Don’t let all the “views are down” discourse distract you from making the best content you’re capable of and being consistent.
