BlackLeaf is great. I’m probably biased because I do scripting work for them, but they are super hands on and care more than any other acquisition company I’ve worked with. The CEO genuinely wants to see people around him succeed.

The US wildly over produces food and it’s a well known fact that small scale American agriculture is heavily dependent on subsidies. This program was a win-win for everyone.

Aid allows funding that would go towards importing to go towards things like developing electrical and water infrastructure, roadways, and agriculture. Also USAID has to get the food from somewhere, right? USAID acted as something like a $5 billion subsidy for American Farmers.

You say that you agree, but in this thread you jumped from group to group with different blame. At first it’s “not the Older Devs because kids enjoy it”, then it’s “Roblox themselves,” and then it’s “the parents.” You also claimed that games don’t cause harm. Maybe now you see?

Yeah, we will see. I’m skeptical of any action Roblox will take as there’s no way they reduce their profit, and unfortunately getting children addicted to easy dopamine is extremely profitable. Personally, I’d like to see a shift in development culture to bring back creativity.

Good god dude… we don’t have to keep dancing to find one person responsible. Everyone involved is responsible and needs to be a part of the solution. Devs, Roblox, the parents— whatever. That doesn’t change the fact that brainrot slop is a problem causing real harm to children.

Low effort, AI generated, slop games that make it to front page nearly all have tactics to optimize algorithm signal. Optimization of those signals almost always takes some sort of unethical approach. Roblox used to be about creativity, now’s it about exploiting children’s minds

I don’t do brainrot, cash grabs, or anything I individually deem to be against my morals.
