Sometimes solutions are easy @DrJoGrady & @ucu
Let’s sit down and talk without conditions or threats that damage everyone. It’s time to resolve this dispute.
Our statement, with support from the following branch committees:

ALT Image of a statement reading: "We call on Jo Grady and UCU SMT to: 1. Enter negotiations with Unite UCU without preconditions. 2. Stop the threat of punitive deductions for ASOS – this breaches UCU and TUC policy and only serves to undermine all of us, not least those UCU members currently involved in legal test cases against punitive deductions after taking lawful industrial action.”

What can students do to support lecturers?
They can write to the VC & ask “why are you saying cuts are needed when you aren’t cutting your £290,000 pay?”
“Why are you, Uni exec, taking a combined pay packet of £2.3m when you’re cutting 400 jobs?”

Congress proceedings have been cancelled today due to strike action by @UniteUCU members.
It's very disappointing that @ucu has not settled this dispute and has allowed the business of our union to be impacted in this way.
