It was good to be home at the church that helped raise me. 💙 Honoured to read Scripture as St. Philip AME celebrated 141 years of ministry and 100 at Harrington Sound. From Tucker’s Town to the Sound, a legacy of faith and resilience. 🙏🏾

Changes to Vehicle Licensing Take Effect Monday, 19 October 2026
The Government of Bermuda is introducing changes under the Motor Car and Auxiliary Bicycles (Miscellaneous) Amendment Act 2026 to simplify licensing and reduce administrative requirements for motorists.
Key changes include:
• Driver’s Licence Renewals: Most motorists can submit an online Personal Medical Declaration instead of obtaining a doctor's certificate. Medical certificates will still be required for drivers aged 70 and over, certain vehicle classes and where additional medical verification is required.
• Vehicle Inspections: Fewer inspections for new private cars during their first five years, provided they remain consecutively licensed.
• Flexible Licensing: Options to license private cars, motorcycles and auxiliary bicycles for 1, 3 or 6 months in special circumstances, or pay licence duties in instalments.
Public Service Vehicles: Inspections will move from every six months to annually.
From Monday, 19 October, motorists can submit their Personal Medical Declaration online at transportcontrol.gov.bm.

🇧🇲 Young Bermudians Helping Shape a More Affordable Bermuda!
The Ministry of Home Affairs has highlighted the work of its inaugural Junior Cost of Living Commission, established to ensure young Bermudians have a voice in addressing the Island’s affordability challenges.
Chaired by Einnajae Caines, the Commission brought together ten young Bermudians from universities, local institutions and the workforce to explore practical solutions to the cost of living.
Members examined affordability challenges relating to education, employment and independent living, drawing on their experiences both locally and overseas to develop recommendations for the statutory Cost-of-Living Commission.
Minister of Home Affairs, the Hon. Alexa Lightbourne, JP, MP, emphasised the importance of including young people in decisions that will shape their future.
Thank you to all Commission members for contributing their perspectives and helping shape the conversation on a more affordable Bermuda.
Minister Kim Wilson was pleased to join students, educators and community partners at the Breakout Youth Mental Health Summit and deliver opening remarks.
Under the theme "THIS IS MY PLACE," the Summit explores how home, school and community shape young people's mental health, sense of belonging and feelings of safety. Participants are also gaining practical tools to build resilience, foster healthy relationships, navigate digital wellbeing, and recognise when and how to seek support.
Investing in the mental wellbeing of our young people helps build stronger, healthier communities for Bermuda's future.
