Making nature pictures in Forest School - and playing with our friends too!

A super PE lesson yesterday, learning how to dribble, send and receive a ball. We demonstrated good relationships with our partners, too.

We had a super computing session yesterday, experimenting with the different icons in Sketchpad.

What a wonderful time we had during our transition afternoon today!

We are composing a melody using musical notation.

A slight distraction just before Sports Day - look who was outside our window!

We have learnt about musical notation today. The children learnt the names of the notes to a melody. They then played the tune on glockenspiels, xylophones and keyboards.

Here are some of our trees of life. We loved making these sculptures.

We had a super time in forest school identifying trees from leaves, finding minibeasts and looking at different colours in nature.

We looked at the variety of plants found in two different parts of the school. We found different species and several more plants in the open field, where they get plenty of sunlight.

This afternoon, we have been enjoying sharing our reading books with our friends in other classes.

Today we started our science topic about plants. We have set up an experiment to see if plants need water to grow. Half of our pots have water and the other half are dry. All other variables are the same, to ensure a fair test.

We had great fun using the skills we learnt in our computing lessons. Today, we made a dragon fly round Goodrich Castle. First it flew straight, then we changed its colour and made it breath out fire. Finally we made it roar!

In Science, we have been learning about the importance of healthy lifestyles. Today we enjoyed baking healthy flapjacks, using oats, seeds and dried fruit.

What a fantastic day we've had at Goodrich Castle.
