COLT’S PIG STAND- Ormond Beach, FL- Standard counter service BBQ just North of Daytona. Solid sides to go with solid pulled pork (8.1) and fatty brisket (8.0). Basic sauce choices with basic flavor. A decent stop on I-95
EVAN’S- Villa Rica, GA
Family owned and the owners have serious culinary experience. Cool local spot with funky art and decor. Fun menu includes Fried BBQ Eggrolls, and smoked cobbler. Pulled pork (9.1) is perfect, but I’d wager the entire menu is well executed #BBQ #villarica
J.D.’s - Acworth, GA- Local smokehouse with friendly service. Dry brisket (5.2) missed the mark, but the pork (9.0) is outstanding. Both sauces (sweet, spicy) are consistent and flavorful. Worth a detour in NW GA. Hardwoods displayed in the dining room #BBQ #acworth #allatoona
J.R.’s Roadkill Bar & Grill- Cleveland, GA- Campy and kitschy shack next to an RV park near the National Forest. Funny signs and full bar get going in the fall with bikers and tourists. Pulled pork (6.8) is fine but it’s a fun stop in the mountains no matter your order
Love Ms. Tootsie! – at Alpharetta, GA
Gordon Ramsay tries a real Texas BBQ platter for the first time (Snow’s BBQ in Lexington).
He is shook by the portion size and pays respect to the pitmaster Tootsie Tomanetz.
Ms. Tootsie is now 88-years old and has been BBQ-ing since 1960s.
Her routine: Snow’s is only open on Saturdays and — on those days — Ms. Tootsie gets up at 1am to prep the pork and brisket.
People start buying at 8am and Snow’s serves until the food is gone, usually by noon (~200lbs of meat sold).
During the week, Ms. Tootsie keeps busy by working as a janitor at a local high school.
Everyone knows her as the “Queen of BBQ”, though (she was featured in Netflix’s “Chef’s Table” and once shortlisted for James Beard Award).
She’s an absolute legend.
Update: Buxton Hall closed permanently on November 22, 2023. – at Georgia, USA
BUXTON HALL- Asheville, NC- This place is special! Cool hidden spot downtown. Pasture-raised whole hog pork is worth building a trip around (9.2). Both the warm Carolina vinegar and mustard sauces are phenomenal. #BBQ #Asheville #eatlocal

Las Vegas has some of the best BBQ in the country. The best chefs from other regions perfected their craft and moved here to open up shop. The biggest and best beef ribs in Las Vegas are from Rollin’ Smoke BBQ. They’re slow smoked, super tender, packed with flavor and sell out almost every day. #vegas #lasvegas #vegasbbq #lipsmackingfoodietours #beefribs #wheretoeatinvegas #vegasfood #vegaslocal #smokedmeat #rollinsmokebbq #ribs

Big Bz Authentic Texas BBQ in Las Vegas believes the secret is in the wood. They drive twice a month back to Texas for a specific type of mesquite for their smoker. Specializing in all things Texas BBQ, they’re known for their tasty rib slabs and tender brisket. #vegas #lasvegas #vegasbbq #smokedmeat #texasbbq #vegaslocal #wheretoeatinvegas #wheretogoinvegas #vegasfoodie #vegasstarfish #vegastok #fingerlickingfoodietour
