OU currently has the No. 1 pass defense in the SEC.
The Sooners are allowing just 156 passing yards per game, while opposing quarterbacks are completing only 60% of their passes.
Heckuva year by the OU defensive backs.

An update from #Sooners safety Peyton Bowen on why he didn’t return after his interception:

Best performance of John Mateer's Oklahoma career.
22/29, 283 yards, 2 TDs, 37 yards rushing, 0 turnovers.
His decision-making was the difference today.
Does OU have an offense?

John Mateer at the half:
12/15, 88 yards, 1 TD no turnovers
Gotta do it again in the second half...
This is what I’m talking about. OU just needs to play conservative football and they can win most games when they hop on the opportunities for explosion. Let’s hope Arbuckle doesn’t decide forcing explosions is the answer, but running and check down throws until it comes.
Obviously not the ideal way for a drive to end. However, this is the kind of offense that the #Sooners can develop and improve upon to win moving forward. Run first, open up play action, make the throws when they’re there, and don’t turn the ball over. Good enough 1Q.

I mean you would be hard-pressed to find a better play than the one Anthony Evans III just had. #Sooners #Bulldogs #Oklahoma #MississippiState

The #Sooners do what they have to do with the short field. They ran the ball well to start the game. They got points on the board. This is a good strategy for the offense.
Also the defense not biting on that crazy first throw was good but unsurprising. They usually do it right.
