Vada Pinson, a graduate of Oakland's McClymonds High School along with Frank Robinson, Curt Flood and Bill Russell, and was so quiet in his first Spring Training, that coach Jimmy Dykes believed he was Hispanic. Jimmy Dykes spoke to him in gestures and broken English until Pinson finally said: "Mr. Dykes, if there is something you want me to do with my stance, please tell just me." "I finally made a close friend in baseball when Vada Pinson joined the Reds in 1959. We were always together, Vada and I. We roomed together, lockered and dressed side by side. We usually ate breakfast and dinner together. I had never been very close to anyone before, and it felt good." Frank Robinson. Vada Pinson had 2,757 hits, 485 doubles, 127 triples, 256 HR, 1,169 RBI, 305 stolen bases. Four 200-plus hit seasons; Led the league in doubles and triples twice; Won a gold glove; Once played in 508 consecutive games. Vada Pinson is just ONE of TWO players in baseball history with at least 2,700 hits, 450 doubles, 250 home runs, 100 triples, and 300 stolen bases. The other one is Willie Mays. With Frank Robinson. Vida Pinson is in my HOF!!! "My father's enduring wait for recognition has been a testament to his perseverance, but one thing that will forever remain unshaken is the unwavering love and admiration of his devoted fans." Vada Pinson Jr.

Due to homecoming festivities, Klein’s band didn’t get to perform until after the game. Klein’s entire football team stayed on the field to watch until the very end. The Bearkats beat rival Klein Cain 37-14, but this might be one of the most impressive moments of the night.

President Trump’s decision to lift sanctions on Russian fuel amidst Putin’s ongoing and brutal attacks on civilian targets in Ukraine makes no sense and is a betrayal of the legacy and leadership of the late Senator Lindsey Graham. While Ukraine fights for its survival, Putin’s war machine continues to prosecute his terrorist war on civilian populations and innocent Ukrainians are dying every day. Now, Instead of implementing the tough sanctions Lindsey Graham fought to his last breath to enact, President Trump has announced the United States is lifting sanctions on Russian energy, fueling the Putin’s war machine. As I saw firsthand in Ukraine last month, Putin is losing this war. Ukraine has fought the Russian military to a standstill and reinvented warfare with drones taking the fight into the heart of Russia. America should not be throwing a lifeline to Putin’s war machine. Now is the time to stand strong against Russian aggression as we did during the first Trump administration. Putin doesn’t want peace. Putin wants Ukraine. I have no doubt that if Putin overruns Ukraine, it will only be a matter of time until Russia’s military crosses a border that our troops will have to deal with him. America is the Leader of the Free World. For our National Security, for the security of our Allies in Europe including Ukraine, President Trump should rescind this deal immediately and return to the strong policies of our four years in the White House; impose harsh sanctions on any nation purchasing Russian energy and work with our allies to ensure Ukraine has the military support it needs to repel and defeat this Russian invasion once and for all. Nick Saban says he complained about how the media made him look like a bad guy until his wife asked if he’d ever watched his own press conferences “I used to come home and complain about it. I would say, ‘I don’t understand why I’m being sort of depicted this way when that’s not really who I am.’ And she said, ‘Do you ever watch yourself?’” “I said, ‘No.’ She said, Well, it comes from your press conferences. You know, you’re anxious. You don’t treat these people with much respect. You don’t have any relationships with them. You never smile…” “You never joke. You never make people feel a part of what you’re trying to do or respect what they’re trying to do, which is to promote your sport. So, what do you expect?” “And it really, really pissed me off that she said that because I didn’t realize that, but she was right.”

Of course you can say “we.” The joy of sports is feeling connected to it. That’s the whole point.
genuine question, do you talk about your favorite sports team as a them or as a we? like, “they won the game” or “we won the game”?
