Did you guys call him The Klandyman when he was in Manhattan? I thought that was just a Baylor thing.

Top 3 @brettyormark moments: 1. Announcing the Big 12 was "open for business." 2. "They're back" letter announcing Colorado's return. 3. Refusing to engage with a guy who consistently mispronounced "tortillas" while struggling to read an awkwardly worded, longwinded question.

Chip is the de-facto AD (not a knock, just a fact)

Here is a paywall-free version of the Waco Trib article about Dave's final meeting with the team for those of us who don't live in Waco. archive.is/4XQsz
Baylor players woke up Sunday morning expecting to start their short week when they were called to the Fudge Football Facility for a mandatory team meeting.  Dave Aranda wanted to say goodbye. And thank you. wacotrib.com/sports/college/…

We've been through this ignorant nonsense before. @ESPNRittenberg told Baylor fans they were delusional idiots for believing they could get a coach like Rhule. Two days later, with standing offers from Baylor and Oregon, Rhule chose to take the Baylor job.

Can Baylor hire who won 2 of those?

Did you forget the playoff is expanding to 24? 25% of the Big 12 will get a bid most years (possibly more with increased parity considering there are 6 Big 12 schools in the top 25). Meanwhile, there's 1 open G6 spot which means 1 out of 70 schools will get in most years.
Really. Which is more likely to make the college football playoff under current status quos? The college whose average finish the last four years in the big 12 is 9th or a perennial favorite to win the American? Hint, it’s the one that can win its conference

Sporting News producer @David_Suggs3 really half-assed it when his editor said, "throw together a list of Baylor candidates." #2 on his list: GLENN THOMAS. This guy wasn't even a playcaller, and got the co-OC job after Matt Lubick bailed. Rhule didn't even bring him to Carolina.

When informed that a female player was gang raped by 5 football players, Art said, "why was she there? Those are some bad dudes!" He never reported it. When informed his player sexually assaulted a masseuse, he said, "she a stripper?" then said he'd work to keep it from the PD.

They should be and be contrite Baylor.

GJ was a 3-star QB whose dad was Baylor's LB coach (and alum). In 2007, GJ went on Fox Sports live and proudly committed to Baylor. 2 weeks later, Mack Brown called and GJ decommitted, leaving BU without a QB. Baylor sucked so bad the entire staff, including his dad, was fired.

The BU MAGA boomers are loving it. Same ones calling for Art Briles's triumphant return (currently 0-8 as HC at Eastern New Mexico, btw). Imagine being MAGA in 2026 when your Epstein idol calls his own supporters ugly, says "ignore the Constitution," and adds $10T to our debt.

He should, but he won't. Lagway has the stronger arm, more athletic, more talented. But he's not scoring. He needs a challenge. But he's NEVER been challenged in his entire college fball career. At some point, you can't keep riding on 5 stars. Ask @MaxBrowne4 or Malachi Nelson.

Coach Aranda really needs to take a chance on Nate Benett for the next game. Baylor needs a spark and right now Lagway doesn't provide that.

Gus, Briles, McGuire, Chad Morris, Graham, etc. were all great HS coaches... who then became college COORDINATORS... who (mostly) then became good G5 coaches... who then became P5 coaches. Only recent HS to D1 HC is Todd Dodge. He won 3 conference games total...in 4 years.

Linda Livingstone using the vacant AD role as an excuse to retain Aranda was a lie. Sorry. Schools ALWAYS use firms like Turnkey. Ex AD Tom Stanton wasn't ALLOWED to hire a new coach after flubbing the Kevin Steele hire. That move cost Baylor Eric Morris & set them back YEARS.

This is the first time I'm saying this: PLEASE try to salvage this season and let Aranda go. It isn't working, @DougMcNameeBU. It's exhausting and no fun watching these games. At least give Coach Hall or Coach Klanderman the chance to earn the permanent job.

A Big Ten/SEC Alliance was inevitable, regardless of playoff format. Big Ten/SEC will only play each other, Notre Dame, or FCS from here on out. It's now practically impossible for the ACC and Big 12, and certainly the G6, to rate high in ESPN's FPI. A self-fulfilling prophesy.
They’re going to use this to lock the ACC and Big 12 out of major nonconference games, and then use “weak nonconference” as justification to put 18 Big Ten and SEC teams into the 24-team playoff.

Mike Locksley was 2-30 all-time against ranked opponents and was on his way to his 11th straight (out of 11) in-conference losing seasons. The writing was on the wall, but how did he last so long as HC in the first place? I've never seen a coach lose so consistently for so long.
🚨BREAKING🚨 2028 4-star RB Jerome Larue has decommitted from Maryland, @adamgorney reports. "I just spoke to my agents, and since I’m listed as a 4-star and the reason we committed is now out the door, we are going to decommit from Maryland." Read: on3.com/rivals/news/maryland…

I was gonna say maybe Harper and Champagnie can be San Antonio's new Twin Towers (after Duncan/Robinson), but then you mentioned 9/11 and I said, "nah. It's too sacred."
The Spurs metropolitan hoopers are naturally the story against the Knicks at the half. Julian Champagnie and Dylan Harper have a combined 27 points on 9/11 from the floor. Champagnie: SCALDING.
