My FPL GW7 Tips. ✅ • Great WC window this week. If you were on the FH3 chip strategy, it's an easy pivot to a Haaland-structure. BOU and TOT have nice fixture swings. Brighton is also targetable, but make sure you have a good rotation plan for GW 8 and 9. I shared the best draft on my page earlier. • Wissa is an understandable sell for most teams, but I don't think it's a must, as his fixtures remain solid until GW11. • The best cheap forwards right now are Gonzalo and Calvert-Lewin, though I don't mind Solanke as a punt either. • If Saka continues to be rested midweek, it'll be hard to look past him. Playing at home to Hull in GW10 makes him a top-tier captaincy option that week. He's playing in a more advanced position and is on penalties. • On the other hand, Gabriel has been disappointing value-wise, but owners need to be patient. He's still an aerial threat, super nailed, and picks up the occasional DefCon. That said, switching to Saka before GW10 is really tempting. • Konsa is in "don't sell, don't buy" territory. I think non-owners have missed the boat now, especially with Saliba close to returning. • (As much as it hurts me to say) De Cuyper is breaking the game. He's a great buy even this week. He has overperformed quite a bit, but still posts great underlying data and gets into advanced positions. Crystal Palace are dead last in xGC (by 0.33), and most damage against them comes down the left-hand side (where De Cuyper plays). Brighton are top for npxG in the league and defensively solid, too. • The same could be said about Groß, though his data isn't quite as amazing (meaning he has overperformed quite a lot). I'd rather target him as a transfer from GW10 onwards. • Brentford are on my watchlist from next week onwards. Their fixtures are solid, and they've accumulated the third-most xG in the league. Thiago is definitely a good swap for Wissa if you have the funds. • City have the best fixture this week, but the rotation risk is too high for me to bring in anyone other than the ultra-nailed assets (Donnarumma, Anderson, Semenyo, Haaland). • Tavernier is a wait-and-see this week. Playing against a mediocre defence, I'm happy to hold him, but I wouldn't mind selling him soon if he keeps getting subbed. • For cheap midfielders, I recommend Stach, Le Fée, and Savio. At 4.9m, Rudoni, Sadiki, and Grimes also look like great value. • Haaland is the straightforward captain for owners. It's trickier for non-owners: as I mentioned, De Cuyper looks insane this week, though it's understandable if most lack the risk appetite to captain a defender. Saka, Palmer and Gonzalo would be next on my list, in that order.

New in @SolioAnalytics: your risk preference can now change your suggested lineup and captain, not just your transfers. Switch between Default, Low Risk and High Risk and see what the planner recommends. Handy with a close captaincy call this GW.

I’m getting cold feet on Tavernier. Now Kluivert and Kroupi Jr. could both threaten his minutes and reduce his penalty share significantly. With Europe midweek, he’s also getting subbed off around the 70–80 minute mark regularly. On top of that, he’s already on 3 YCs.
Eli Junior Kroupi could be back at the weekend to face Manchester United. He is not registered in the Europa League squad to play versus AC Milan tomorrow but is back in training. bbc.co.uk/sport/football/art…

By minutes reduction I don’t mean he’s not nailed or won’t start. But it’s certainly another quality competition in attack to worry about. His minutes already were between 70-80, and I don’t see that changing very soon.

This is how my team looks for GW8. I've 3 Free Transfers and 1.1M in the bank. I'm looking at mainly two options this week: a, Szoboszlai to Mbeumo b. Szoboszlai to Saka there's a few ways of funding option b, Tavernier, Konsa to Thomas & Rudoni, Murillo to Muharemovic/Silva.

61 pts & a 220k red arrow. Haaland doing what he does is fine, but the non-Haaland premiums consistently underperforming their xPts isn’t just a bad run anymore it’s becoming an annoying multi-season trend (Palmer, Bruno, Saka, Thiago etc.). Still trusting the process, but the yield on premiums outside Erling is frustrating, and I'm worried that the second half of the season (especially DGW-period) could become extremely boring again, as it has been for a few years now.

I left out an important topic from my GW7 Tips post. 💭What to do with Szoboszlai? The fitness situation is unfortunately unclear for now, but I can imagine 3 realistic scenarios: • it was a minor issue & plays this week. • minor issue but protected this week - eased back in UCL - starts next week as usual. • some reports indicate a bit more serious issue, could mean 2-3 weeks, I think this is the most unlikely. He still offers insane value at 6.9M, is on penalties & set pieces for a top 5 attack. Looking at the variety of great midfield options selling him isn’t an awful idea neither. For example: downgrade Gabriel, upgrade Szoboszlai to Saka. Downgrade Szobo, upgrade Wissa to Thiago. Or a straight swap to Stach, Tavernier or Enzo is also sensible. Conclusion: • deep bench & good squad = I’d comfortably keep • thinner bench or would fit into a good swap long term = I’m not against selling.

Here's the Wildcard 7 draft I put together, if I were playing it this week. 👇 Some alternatives: • Gabriel, De Cuyper, Vuskovic, Muharemovic, Hill • Savio, Schade (if fit), Odegaard, Rogers, Le Fee • Gonzalo, Solanke, 4.5M FWD

Very interesting week for me. There’re a variety of options: a, roll b, Wissa to Gonzalo/DCL c, Szoboszlai, Gabriel to Saka, De Cuyper (c) d, bringing in Haaland (c) Different model inputs recommend different transfers. I’m not against using 3-4 FTs if I feel it’s worth it, but I’m happy with the core of my team. If I don’t bring in MDC or Haaland, Palmer (c) will probably stay.

Currently manifesting the biggest negative variance between my EV and actual rank this season. Why? Because I genuinely don't care. I want to prove once and for all that OR is a meaningless metric. Make good decisions and accept that variance is out of your control. I'll stick to the process, you can keep obsessing over luck.

P.S. I don't even believe in manifesting anyway. I just think a massive gap between my expected and actual rank is way funnier (& more valuable) than a “boring” Top 50k finish. (All due respect to everyone doing well, of course).
