Lithium is truly a future facing mineral / chemical / commodity (?). Rio Tinto are now properly locked in. Rio’s lithium move is a major deal at the bottom of the market - can’t remember many times we’ve said that. It’s been a move 10 years in the making. It marks 18 years since Rio found ‘krypotonite’ in Serbia (Jadarite). A new mineral discovery in 2007 at the start of my career - one we are now familiar with. This about as good a deal as it gets for Rio Tinto but the hard work starts now. Expected more M&A from Rio over time - they don’t do things to be 3rd, 4th or 5th.
