The latest data shows what WFP teams see every day on the ground: Extreme hunger in #Sudan is not only widespread, it is deepening as the conflict persists. WFP's Ross Smith explains more ⤵️
Hunger and malnutrition are threatening millions of lives in Sudan.
The international community must move now with funding, access & the political will to stop this crisis from becoming an even greater tragedy.

Today, on International Nurses Day, we honour nurses around the world who dedicate their lives to care, humanity, and compassion. We also pay tribute to Florence Nightingale, whose devotion to the sick and wounded helped transform the nursing profession.
More than two centuries later, her legacy still lights the way for nurses everywhere.

ALT She helped establish modern nursing through new care practices and hospital reforms that improved patient care. During the Crimean War (1853-1856), Florence Nightingale worked in overcrowded military hospitals with high death rates. Created in her honour by the ICRC in 1912, the Florence Nightingale Medal is awarded every two years to nurses who have shown exceptional courage and dedication in caring for others. This award recognises those who work under difficult conditions to protect life, provide care, and preserve human dignity.

In a world facing overlapping crises - from Sudan, to Lebanon to the wider issues in the Middle East - the demand for humanitarian aid has never been greater. But as needs grow, the global response is struggling to keep up.
In the latest episode of The Fourcast, Krishnan Guru-Murthy speaks to Tom Fletcher, the United Nations’ Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, about the immense challenges of delivering life-saving support in today’s fractured world. How does the UN prioritise when everything is urgent?
📍 Sudan | Three years on, the conflict in the country continues to take a heavy toll on civilians.
Drones and advanced weapons are hitting homes, hospitals, and essential infrastructure, deepening an already devastating crisis.
