This was a very strange strategy choice by the province. They based their entire pitch on a number everyone knew was not credible (that’s why Kenney and Toews locked the report up for years) instead of on any other reason to create our own plan. Did they want it to fail?

To the extent that some Albertans retire outside elsewhere, the APP would continue to fund those benefits. It's hard to be precise on this point, without more detailed data than exists publicly, but it's at least a part of the imbalance many point to. An APP wouldn't change that.

Striking and wage inflation that comes with it is a lag effect of price inflation. I still can’t believe there were those positioning for a Fed Pivot this year. 🤷♂️
420,000 workers are now on strike in the United States, according to Bank of America.
Estimates show that up to 545,000 workers are likely to be on strike by the end of 2023.
This would be the most workers on strike since 1983, which also happens to be the last time inflation was an issue.
Meanwhile, a record 447,000 people now hold 2 full-time jobs in the US.
Consumers are feeling the pain of inflation.
