So who paid for that surgery?
Under federal law (EMTALA), hospitals must treat emergency patients regardless of status or ability to pay. For illegal aliens, that care is billed to Emergency Medicaid, funded by taxpayers. What isn't covered gets written off and passed on to the rest of us through higher premiums and hospital bills.
This is what American citizens have been inheriting for decades.
