Imagine a world without money. A world with only peer to peer issued IOU's based on actual created value. What would that look like ?

We will be soon releasing a guide on our handbook.joincircles.net detailing how you and your communities can create a local network and start organising economic circles, with methodologies to onboard businesses, cooperatives, farmers, local municipal governments, etc. /2

If you are joining @CirclesUBI, please think about what you can offer to the people that trust you.
Building value to a grassroots network and the practice of a gift economy was heavily emphasized in the berlin launch, but runs the risk of getting lost in the digital realm

This might be a good time to clarify the monetary design behind Circles, as many people are confused about how it's supposed to work. 1. Circles is not based on scarcity: it does not have a limited amount of tokens (e.g. 21million) that will be issued at any point in time.

Agree. If profits are delayed rewards for risk-taking than rewards should get lower the more wealth you have and the lesser risk is involved. The gains could be used for #basicincome to give more non-rich people access to risk-taking & entrepreneurship. @AndrewYang @leashless

Berliners! Tonight! Kreuzberg! We aren't waiting for governments for UBI! Come hear about grassroots Basic Income initiatives at OpenUBI Roundtable II - Not sure if we are allowed to have 150 people in this building, but surely a few more will be OK 😀 bit.ly/2DDWGG0

Governments are unwilling to redistribute wealth in a way that could easily cover everyone's basic needs. We're tired of waiting for them and are creating new monetary systems and local economies from the ground up!

As examples see the "radical markets" ideas around Harberger taxes, the work of @koeppelmann on universal basic income schemes, the philanthropy badges of @peepethApp, the extensive ideas from @VitalikButerin on funding public goods, etc. This is what @mi_ayako is talking about.

Every day, we are told that global economic growth will save us. But think about it: How is it possible to have infinite growth on a finite planet? bit.ly/2LnqQP6 @TheRulesOrg #GrowthOrLife #postgrowth

If you love the idea of decentralized market economies and hate the idea of unconditional basic income, you've got a real problem on your hands because the former requires the latter. Markets require customers who require money. As money goes to fewer hands, markets break down.

Quantitative Easing fuels freshly printed money into the economy via robots running programs on Wall St. to boost stocks. Universal Basic Income (UBI) fuels freshly printed money into the economy via humans running households on Main St. to boost living standards.
