Anyone who has tried to help a loved one struggling with severe addiction knows — it’s long past time for a hard conversation. We need to talk about how we can compel care for those who are so deep in the throes of addiction that they can’t make a rational decision about their own well-being and are having an outsized impact on our emergency services and everyone else’s quality of life. It’s not compassionate or progressive to leave people to suffer and die on our streets — and as any former addict will tell you, there is no recovery without accountability.

the most underrated hire right now is a great product person. when i say product person i'm def not talking about a product manager. perhaps i think there has to be somewhat of a new role. i don't have a good name for it yet but maybe something like "product thinker".. someone with an intuitive grasp of the product as it exists, where it's soft, where it sings, & how to iterate it toward something even sharper. in some sense, this person has to cohesively hold in their head where this product should be 2 years from now & work backwards from that. i say this cuz when building was hard, engineering was the bottleneck & the status hierarchy often reflected that. building is no longer hard. which means the variance in outcomes has shifted almost entirely to judgment on what to build, how to sequence it, & how to talk about it. & the story matters as much as the thing. internally, it organizes the team around a shared model of why. externally, it shapes the interpretive frame users bring to their first experience. you can't retrofit narrative onto a product & expect it to land, it has to be load bearing from the start. the rarest version of this person sits at the intersection of culture & deep technology. someone genuinely bilingual. they know what's technically possible & they know which cultural currents are real vs. ephemeral. that combo is what separates products that feel inevitable from products that feel assembled. before ppl clap back with this person has always been valuable, i know.. i am just saying now they might be the most *important* person in the room. their value compounds like never before.

🇮🇷 47 years ago, I stood at a window in Tehran as a 3-year-old boy, smelling burning tires and hearing the chants that would steal my country. I didn’t have words for what was happening. Today, I am watching smoke rise over the same city — but this time the smoke is not the end of Iran. It is, God willing, the beginning of her resurrection. Several weeks ago I wrote in that the fever of 1979 was finally breaking. I never imagined I would wake up to see that fever confronted so directly. Israel — with the clear support of the United States — has launched a preemptive strike deep into Tehran and against the regime’s military machinery. Explosions in the capital. Military targets hit. The IRGC’s aura of invincibility, already cracked, is shattering in real time. I do not celebrate war. No decent person does. What I celebrate — what millions of Iranians inside the country and in the diaspora have prayed for in secret for decades — is the possibility that a regime which has no right to exist may finally be forced to go. This is the same regime that: - Armed and cheered the October 7 massacre against Israel for no reason other than pure genocidal hatred. - Murdered tens of thousands of its own sons and daughters who dared to walk peacefully in the streets demanding the most basic freedoms. - Gouges out the eyes of young women for the “crime” of wearing makeup. - Hangs teenagers from cranes for posting a tweet. - Exports terror, poverty, and darkness to every corner it can reach including the U.S. No nation, no people, should have to live under that. Not Israelis. Not Americans. Not Lebanese. Not Syrians. And certainly not Iranians. I am a physician who has spent his life trying to heal bodies and a son of Iran who has spent his life mourning a stolen homeland. What we are witnessing is not aggression — it is surgery. Painful, necessary surgery to remove a tumor that has metastasized for 47 years. The tumor is the Islamic Republic that has hijacked Iran. To the brave pilots and special operators of the Israeli Air Force and the men and women of the United States military now carrying out this mission: I pray for you with everything I have. May God shield you from harm. May every missile find its target and every soldier return home safely to the families who love them. You are not invaders. You are the answer to the prayers of millions who have whispered “enough” in the dark since 1979. You are giving our friends the chance to breathe free air again. The entire region will owe you a peace we have not known in my lifetime. To my fellow Iranians watching from inside the country right now, heart pounding, maybe hiding in basements or on rooftops: Hold on. The end is clearer than it has ever been. The regime’s fear is real. Their eyes — those same eyes that once stared down at us with absolute power — now show something they haven’t shown in decades: panic. The math has changed. The window of 1979 is finally closing. To the little three-year-old boy I once was — and to every little boy and girl in Tehran, Isfahan, Shiraz, and Tabriz today who hears explosions instead of lullabies: This time the sounds are not the closing of a door. They are the opening of one. The road ahead will not be easy. Transitions never are. But the direction is unmistakable. A secular, prosperous, free Iran is no longer a dream — it is becoming an inevitability. I have lived the stolen life so that others might not have to. Today, for the first time in 47 years, I allow myself to believe that the stealing is almost over. Thank you, Israel. Thank you, America. The Iranian people — the real Iran — will never forget. The fever is breaking. The dawn of 2026 is here. And this time, the light wins. 🇮🇷❤️🇮🇱🇺🇸

$𝟱.𝟮𝟲 𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻. 𝟯𝟬𝟰 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀. 𝗭𝗲𝗿𝗼 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆. San Francisco doesn't track how many people any of them actually get off the streets. We said 50+ nonprofits under the Department of Homelessness (HSH) in our last article. Readers said hundreds. We were both looking at different numbers, so we pulled the city's supplier contracts dataset to settle it. 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝟱𝟬+ 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 The city's website lists about 60 nonprofits for homelessness services. If you just count the major HSH-contracted orgs doing shelters, navigation, and outreach, you get 50-60. The full contract ledger has 100. The other 40 that round out the 100 hold HSH contracts but don't show up on the city's public listings. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝟯𝟬𝟰 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗟𝗼𝗼𝗸𝘀 𝗟𝗶𝗸𝗲 - 𝟭𝟬𝟬 𝗻𝗼𝗻𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀 hold contracts. The top three alone account for $1.49 billion across hundreds of contracts since FY2018. - 𝟭𝟱𝟬+ 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘆 𝗟𝗟𝗖𝘀 collect rent subsidies. - 𝟮𝟬-𝟯𝟬 𝗳𝗼𝗿-𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗶𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝘀 provide security, hotels, title services, and tech. And that's just HSH. Public Health and the Human Services Agency run their own homelessness contracts on top of these 304. 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗢𝗿𝗴 𝗛𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 Every org above $1 million has an executive team, finance department, HR, compliance officer, and annual audit. We reported 50+ nonprofits under HSH alone. The real count is 100, and every additional org means more duplicated back-office spending. 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘀? How many of these 304 contractors can tell you how many people they've weaned off taxpayer-funded assistance?

Tonight was very difficult. The University of Toronto's Governing Council was invited by the Israeli Consulate to view the footage of the October 7th massacre. It was difficult because of what those few who chose to attend saw, and because of why it was necessary to see it. I'm a doctor. I've seen horrible things, but what I witnessed was beyond description. The graphic footage of Hamas death squads gleefully shooting, burning, and cutting their way through women, men and the elderly was deeply disturbing. But it was the horrible fate of the children that will haunt me to my grave. It was necessary to see it, because the University of Toronto continues to allow groups to hide behind dubious claims of academic freedom and freedom of speech when what is really being spread is hate. One cannot bear witness to the horrors of the massacre and sincerely profess that holding a vigil on October 7th "Honouring our Martyrs" like the one held that University of Toronto Mississauga campus is acceptable, decent, or civil. The University can no longer rationalize away this type of outrageous behavior. Guardrails for civil discourse and civil behavior must be established for students and staff alike if we are to fulfill our mission of shaping young minds to become the future of our great country. We must bring the newly invigorated and vicious beast of antisemitism to heel, and we must start in our classrooms. @UofT @UofTMississauga @UofTNews @nolanmquinn @fordnation @TeamKerzner @MichelleC_PC

Hamas Scandal: Part of why the terror organization is going after multiple clans is that a particular clan in southern Gaza had members involved in securing humanitarian aid convoys near the Rafah areas, who stumbled into a despicable act of Hamas’s evil. Throughout the war, leaders and terror operatives of the group in Gaza have been taking advantage of vulnerable Palestinian women in desperate need of humanitarian aid and support by exploiting them for sexual favors, as was recently reported by the AP and confirmed by this newly revealed video, which promises to be one of many. Hamas charity heads leverage their positions to provide women with support in exchange for sexual favors. They would go on to film and take photos of the women in compromising positions to ensure they remain silent. This particular video shows Ameen Bakr AbuBakara, whom Hamas recently killed horrifically, because he caught one of their leaders in a compromising position, filmed him, and documented his scandal. Ameen did not publicize or reveal the scandal. He covered up what he encountered because he did not want the woman to face retribution in an honor-driven society where women can be killed for adultery, even in the case of rape. Instead, he promised the woman free, full support. Still, he made her pledge that she would not provide sexual favors to Hamas members or mid-level leadership in humanitarian organizations in the Gaza Strip. Once the ceasefire commenced, Hamas was keen to bury the scandal and made sure to kill Ameen to hide this disaster and many more like it. The cowardly so-called ‘journalists’ in Gaza, most of whom are directly or indirectly affiliated with Hamas or at least have the group’s approval to operate in the Strip, would never dare cover such stories, because they know what the outcome would be. Think about that the next time you hear about reporting coming out of Gaza and being touted by the fraudulent “pro-Palestine” movement, which now exists to run cover for the terrorist organization and justify its very heinous acts and evil deeds. Link to AP investigative article on women facing sexual exploitation in Gaza below.

As a Palestinian who openly opposes Hamas and rejects the glorified myths our society keeps repeating, I can’t stay silent about the sheer hypocrisy I see from many Western liberals. How can you defend a movement that executes its own people, by shooting them in the street, without trial, for merely disagreeing or being labeled “collaborators”? How can you call that “resistance” while those very scenes mirror the barbarism you’d condemn anywhere else in the world? You claim to stand for liberal values, for human rights, for justice. But your empathy collapses when the victims are Palestinians murdered by other Palestinians, when it doesn’t fit the neat narrative of oppressor and oppressed. What does that say about your values, really? If you can overlook public executions and rule by terror just because the perpetrators shout “liberation,” then maybe your solidarity isn’t rooted in morality but in ideology.

Oct 7 was the single deadliest day in the history of the conflict. The Japanese don’t mark Pearl Harbor as a holiday. The Germans don’t celebrate the day they invaded Poland. Only the Palestinians turn a day of mass murder, abduction & self-destruction into a day of honor.

Hamas sent its Nukhba [elite] forces today in Khan Younis to defeat the Al-Majayda family/clan, record the footage for propaganda right before today's ceasefire announcement & show the group as being in total control of Gaza. Instead, the clan's valiant resistance and the drone strike by the Israeli military foiled, aborted, and ended their plans, which backfired horribly in a massive embarrassment. Interestingly, the terror group's Nukhba members came with reconnaissance footage from a drone, target photos including children to kidnap, and printed out instructions, similar to what they had on October 7, including references to them commandeering two ambulances for use in the operation. Multiple Gaza sources confirm that the entire force emerged from its hideout at the Al Nasser Hospital, proving once again the disgusting and gross extent to which Hamas has weaponized medical and humanitarian facilities to conduct terror and warfare operations, endangering civilian lives and eliciting Israeli airstrikes that cause massive loss of life and infrastructure damage.

Iranians in the Netherlands march in support of Israel and call for the destruction of the Islamic regime. Not a single woman in hijab or burqa, no one is masked, and no violence. These are real refugees who fled a brutal Islamist dictatorship. Unlike fake refugees, they actually want to go back to their homeland!

My family lives in Iran. I have more stakes in this war than all of those Western keyboard warriors and keffiyeh Karens. I can wake up tomorrow and not have a mom. Still, that's not the reason I'm not okay. I know war is scary and it endangers everyone, but nothing is more emotionally taxing right now than seeing the world's reaction to our plight. It's after 3 years of Iranian people's tireless advocacy amid absolute silence from these loud, heartless so-called human rights advocates, after the streets of Iran ran with the blood of 500+ in 2022, after the execution of 1400 (and these are just recorded estimates), after the imprisonment of torture of thousands of people in Iranian prisons, some of whom my friends, after seeing the economy do to a level where people are lucky to have a slice of bread as their only meal of the day while our entire national wealth is funneled either to the terrorists in the region or to the penthouses Israel just took out with the murderers who lived in them, after all that, to see keffiyeh Karen, who has been silent about our suffering until this very moment, proudly raise the Islamic Republic's bloody flag and say, "Hands off Iran." No, keffiyeh Karen. No. You hands off Iran. Keep my country's name out of your mouth and my country's thought out of your mind. You don't care about us. We don't need you.

One of the generals of the Islamist regime killed today was Hossein Salami. In this photo👇🏼 he is seen in 1979, after he had kidnapped a female servant from the Shah’s palace. They dragged her through the streets, shot her, and burned her alive — while people watched. And now some Westerners are sad for his passing to 72 virgin island.

Right as I was knee-deep in grieving the killing of a family member in the Gaza Strip by an Israeli airstrike, not to mention helping dozens of friends & allies deal with an unprecedented hunger disaster in the coastal enclave, Hamas’s transnational armies of terrorists, grifters, pedophiles, liars, and agents of antisemitism and hatred were launching a multi-front campaign to cause me maximum harm and distract from my ability to do work that truly matters. YouTuber Ethan Klein hosted me on his podcast and donated $1,000 each to the World Food Program’s Gaza appeal and to Realign For Palestine, my project at the Atlantic Council, an umbrella nonprofit think tank organization in Washington, D.C., where I work. An Australian terrorist hiding in Argentina who goes by the name of Bad Empanada made a video claiming that I’m laundering money to Israel and the Atlantic Council, sending hordes of his deranged followers to attack me. It didn’t help that Hamas’s chief propaganda officer in America, Turkish-American Hasan Piker, piled on to rile up Hamas’s transnational terrorists into a frenzy against me. What followed was a despicable series of attacks and actions: hordes of complaints got my Facebook personal account, where I had 20,000 plus followers, removed/disabled by Meta. Additionally, a group of pro-Hamas fans of the Bad Empanada and Hasan Piker filed FBI complaints against me and Ethan Klein, saying that I’m a front for laundering money to Israel! What’s ironic is that almost a year ago, a leftist Russian/Iranian rag ran a hit piece against me claiming that the Israeli government was paying me $30 million to promote genocide – and when that failed to undermine me, I’m now supposedly funneling money to Israel via the Atlantic Council. This is what supporting terror does to people’s brains: zero critical thinking, lies, manipulation, and brainless followers. What’s hilarious is that the pedophile empanada’s video literally had a donations link to support him throughout the whole video, as he’s talking about me sending donations to Israel. Ask yourself: why are an Australian, a Turk, and a Malaysian going out of their way to attack a Gazan American? How is it that, as Hamas is being rejected en masse by the people of Gaza, a transnational cocktail of terrorists, online influencers, gamers, alleged pedophiles, and Southeast Asians is trying to out-Palestinian actual Palestinians? This is the disease and the mental illness that attracts so many to the “pro-Palestine” cause; a just and urgent cause worthy of helpful and impactful allies, not losers and imbeciles who have no business talking about this issue in the first place. It’s time to confront Hamas’s transnational terror armies that are lurking everywhere. I say again: Hamas is severely weakened and loathed and is being rejected by massive swaths of Gaza’s desperate population. However, Hamas, the idea, not unlike al-Qaeda and ISIS, is well and thriving among a transnational group of people who are inciting the next generation of terrorists. Most terribly, transnational support for Hamas is destroying any hope that genuine and sincere pro-Palestine advocacy can obtain meaningful gains to actually move this issue forward.

100% almost no media would acknowledge Sinwar was killed in a tunnel under the hospital complex (using the entire protected site as a shield, war crime) and that hospital itself was not hit.
Hamas leader Mohammed Sinwar was killed in a tunnel beneath European Hospital as widely acknowledged now — validating Israel’s claims about Hamas tunnels beneath hospitals. Media & NGOs have noticeably dropped the story. Hospital itself was never hit. Last coverage by @nytimes:
