As I always say... swatting should carry the penalty of attempted homicide automatically without question. It is a blatant attempt to murder someone using law enforcement to do their dirty work. In this case, another player requested remote access to his computer to check for cheats... Stupidly, he allowed it, after which his personal information was obtained, and then he started receiving threats from overseas demanding money with a black mail threat of swatting. Also, how incompetent is the local PD? In this day and age, where swatting is extremely common, these people don't even do any due diligence AFTER the man called the police department to warn them. To make it worse, they did a no-knock raid, which any reasonable person is going to assume that their house is being robbed. For anyone calling to "warn" the PD, don't trust the dispatchers. Demand that you get in touch with someone inside who will make a file for you, such as a detective who will flag your address as a potential swatting risk. Ask specifically for procedures and protocols to follow when the swatting happens.
