Empty Threats and Memos with No Ability for Enforcement Governor Greg Abbotts "Designation" of CAIR as a Foreign Terrorist Organization on 18 November 2025 had a lot of people cheering him on for finally taking a stand against the Islamic invasion of Texas. But if that's true, how are they still operating in Texas and why were they at the Texas Republican Convention in Houston this year? What the "Designation" actually did was the following: - 1. Prohibiting the purchase or acquisition of real property in Texas (with forced divestiture and penalties under the Property Code). - 2. Authorizing the Attorney General to bring civil suits to shut down operations or enforce the restrictions. - 3. Authorizing heightened enforcement and investigations by the Department of Public Safety. - 4. Potential application of Texas’s terroristic-offense and material-support statutes (Penal Code Chapter 76), which criminalize knowingly providing material support or resources with the intent or knowledge that they will be used to further terrorist offenses as defined under Texas law. In other words, it was just something to make the base happy and appear as if he was addressing the problem. CAIR knows that there's no real "teeth" to this.
