Great initiative from @niabgroup and just what @BBSRC should be funding. Mobilising useful traits from unadapted germplasm has been underfunded for far too long. Ideally, a long term publicly funded programme is needed to really benefit agriculture.
Niab will lead a new international wheat pre-breeding project to move promising genetic traits into elite European wheat lines, working with commercial breeders to accelerate variety development. #WheatBreeding #PlantBreeding hubs.li/Q04B3lbM0

Our mash filter redefines whisky-making and is integral to our process. It allows us to extract more flavour and work with unique grains like rye and winter barley, creating whisky with greater complexity and character.

Really sad news. I enjoyed many productive discussions with Huw. He wasn't afraid to say what he thought and was an early pioneer of grower groups. It's great to see the development of @ScotAgCoOp over the past 41 years. RIP Huw - you were a great force and influence.
It is with great sadness that we say farewell to Huw Phillips, the founder and first Managing Director of Scottish Agronomy. Huw has left an extraordinary legacy in Scottish Agronomy and will be missed by all who knew him.

Rising aphid, gout fly and leafhopper pressure in cereal crops is increasing pressure to use insecticides, even on farms that have opted into the no insecticide payments in SFI schemes. While growers will be loath to spray, the economic consequences of not doing so need to be considered. Find out more here 👇 bit.ly/47QP684 📷 Rob Purvis

Kiln it or keep it? 🔥   Lager, Munich & Caramel 90°C malts from 4 barley varieties, profiled with LC-MS. Malt type drove most of the 609 metabolites, BUT varietal differences survived the kiln. Find out more in the article below 👇🏻   tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.… #malting
