Many congratulations🎉🎊🙏 to the team; @luigidolcini & Alex (paper #1 of his PhD!), & especially to 1st-author @m_lepori (a.k.a. "Dr. Ritter") for his first (co)-corresponding⭐️article!
Prost!🍻
🚨After 5y in making, unveiling a special discovery🌌in @Chem_CP:
Cross-coupling transient(vinyl/sp!) radicals.🚫Ni/Fe/radical sorting/hydrazides.✅Covalent-rotating organoPC💡dyads template 2 precursors, generate& cross-couple radicals in close proximity

Not to worry - a Blackmond/Bures prize on RPKA & VTNA is surely 'brewing' 😎
While I do share the sentiment: there was even an example of non-linear effects in asymm. synth 4 years prior to Soai's 1995 paper, by an industrial chemist Rautenstrauch, who is still alive..🤔

Obviously.. we're absolutely thrilled to see the field of *autocatalysis* (for asymm. synthesis) recognized by the 2026 Nobel!🪙🎉🙏A LONG overdue, fully-deserved recognition of Soai's rxn, which brought autocatalysis to the fore of chemist's attention&origins of life/chirality🧵
🚨Native RCOOH decarbox- w/o Fe/Ce/base/aux! Dicyanoacridones engage a solvent-gated H+ relay activation of RCOOH, in TM-complex-free photoelectro⚡️Minisci &photo💡Giese rxns. No ground-state H-bonded assembly needed!🗝️to the gate is TFE🧵

🚨2 reactivities,1 cycle: PET-HAT!🐈🎩@ACSCatalysis
Last year we reported #photoredox #autocatalysis, w/biarylsultams as cheap, self-synthesizing photoreducing catalysts.
Turns out after [R]PET, their N-centered radicals can HAT activate a 2nd substrate!👇

Laying out the puzzle pieces🧩of photoexcited radical catalysis
tinyurl.com/ycyyaeku @angew_chem
Mechanisms heavily debated because ps-lifetimes of excited states kinetically prohibit diffusion🛑
The most curious aspects? Wavelength dependence🚦&divergent chemoselectivity🤔

Thanks to the #ISOFR14 organizers for a celebration🎆of radicals in the birthplace of #photochemistry, Bologna🇮🇹☀️Our team got to meet leading figures/'giants' in the field &JPB to chair some of them in the @RoySocChem session. Bologna's food culture lived up to its reputation!🍝 – at Bologna, Emilia Romagna
