Big brown bats, like many bats that hunt on the wing, use their "basket" to wrangle insect prey. Check out this bruiser (over 25 grams!) hanging in space while she repeatedly attempts to subdue her pyralid moth target. Captured in the lab at 500 fps.
Pallid bats are impressive predators - hunters of dangerous scorpions and centipedes - found in the deserts and shrublands of western NA. Check out this one attacking a much less spectacular speaker playing arthropod walking sounds (with mealworm reward) in the lab! 500 fps.
