We have serious concerns regarding the proposed Kensal Canalside Opportunity Area, while we support responsible development, the Mayor must step in to ensure residents in neighbouring boroughs like Brent have a say. So today, I called upon him to call in the planning application.
ALT A formal letter from the London Assembly Liberal Democrat Group. The letter is signed by Hina Bokhari OBE AM and addressed to Sadiq Khan, Mayor of London. It raises concerns about the proposed Kensal Canalside Opportunity Area development, including its 11–12 year construction timeline, increased noise, air pollution and traffic, reduced affordable housing from 35% to 20%, pressure on local infrastructure, contamination risks from a former gasworks site, and inadequate consultation with neighbouring boroughs such as Brent. The letter calls on the Mayor to call in the planning application so it can be overseen by the Greater London Authority.
