Literally everything the majority accuses Jews of is precisely what the majority wishes to absolve itself of having done to Jews

Hi @RoKhanna! Bummer that you don't remember me. We actually have met in green rooms at MSNBC/NOW. And I've known/worked with your staff throughout the years. We also both were Deputy Assistant Secretaries in the Obama Administration, but didn't cross paths then.
I doubt you knew every staffer on the Bernie 2020 campaign, and as far as I recall, you never made an effort to engage the Jewish component of the campaign back then, for what it's worth. I wish you would have.
On the substance, I also didn't say that Sanders is an antisemite. What I did say in my @TheFP OpEd is that he is "... pushing the party to absorb the most radical fringe voices in its midst, who will actively fuel antisemitism in the halls of Congress and in society as a whole."
I also made my role on the campaign clear, saying: "I spent three and a half months on the Sanders campaign back in 2020, attempting to chart a path that would make American Jewish supporters of Israel feel welcome in the Sanders coalition—and in the Democratic Party as a whole. I won many small battles back then, but it’s clear I lost the war. Today, the noxious shoots I saw emerging have become deeply rooted. Now, the movement is fully grown, and it threatens to smother the Democratic Party."
Do you have views on the substance of this point?

I'm a middle eastern historian. My own family were made refugees. And this is my honest view of the Nakba (“catastrophe”) - the displacement of around 700,000 Palestinian Arabs during the 1947–49 war surrounding the creation of Israel.
A thread. 🧵
Did you know that @lyft can charge you $150 for 'clean-up' based on the say-so of a driver, and with a very cursory review?
I was sent the attached photos and told that I had made a 'mess'. They seem to show the inside of the car door. Lyft could not explain what this 'mess' was.

I have spent the past few weeks talking to humanitarians in Gaza, anti-Hamas activists, human rights organizers, feminists, widows, divorced women, desperate civilians, people in tents, civilians barely getting by, youngsters, and a diverse cross-section of Gaza’s professional class. They all shared the hardships they have been experiencing as a result of the past two years of a devastating Israeli war that has decimated the coastal enclave and made it virtually unlivable for those picking up the pieces after the ceasefire.
I have asked almost every single one of them: Why are we not seeing a mass anti-Hamas movement, and why are we not seeing large-scale uprisings against the terror group?
Every single one has referenced the horror that Hamas carries out against those who have enough of a platform and dare speak out.
Specifically, and disturbingly, they have each referenced the use of Gaza’s hospitals by Hamas as interrogation centers, and how the terror group threatens its opponents with “rods in their legs” if they dare open their mouths. They have described how Hamas has been breaking the legs of opponents, attacking tent occupants, kidnapping men, beating their mothers and sisters, and taking them to one of the three main hospitals: al-Shifa in Gaza City, Al Aqsa in Deir al-Balah, or Nasser in Khan Younis.
Despite widespread public knowledge of what happens, none of the international humanitarian or “human rights” organizations have said anything about the horrendous human rights atrocities being committed by Hamas against the Palestinian people of Gaza.
This is how many such organizations have become a joke, making a mockery of their so-called “activism.”
The crimes being perpetrated against Palestinians are only relevant to these organizations when Israel is the culprit, and hardly ever if Hamas, the Islamist, fascist, terror organization, is involved. Some of the same organizations who regularly decry abuses by Islamist movements and anti-Western extremists in Syria, Iraq, Iran, Yemen, Sudan, or elsewhere, and the same who scream about gender-apartheid, freedom of expression, and the need to push back against dictatorial and absolutist regimes, are cowardly, and willingly, remaining silent, when it comes to the violence and atrocities of Hamas in the Strip.
This is why “human rights” activism needs a serious makeover; this is why Hamas needs to be treated and considered as a human rights issue, and not only when seen through the lens of the very legitimate human rights abuses by Israel. Instead, everything has become this kind of blind obsession with calling out Israel, without understanding the evils that this Muslim Brotherhood-backed, Iranian Islamic Regime-financed terror entity is the ultimate enemy of the Palestinian people in Gaza and beyond.
Shame on all of these fraudsters who are unable to hold multiple truths and who are asleep at the wheel now that there is a ceasefire in Gaza.

Would the Crimson publish: “Should I let go of my Muslim friends?” or, “Should I let go of my gay friends?” If they would, read the published response to letting go of Zionist friends, and replace Zionism and Zionist with Islam and Muslim, ask yourself if the “Amateur Ethicist” would respond this way if it was about letting go of Muslim or gay friends?
(Many will try to argue that it’s not a fair comparison. I posit that it’s in their argument that the double standard and bias will further emerge.)
The Western Majority on the Left is attempting to impose its ideological structures on the Jewish people while cloaking it in a defense of an oppressed people.
Their totalizing worldview at the same time renders Palestinians defenseless in the face of Hamas.
Antizionism is imperialism.
The way antizionists tokenize antizionist Jews, pressure other Jews to adopt antizionist positions, and elevate them as exemplars of opposition to Jewish collective identity is a classic imperialist tactic of divide and conquer.
Like other imperial projects, antizionism depends on breaking down the internal cohesion of the group it targets. It must disaggregate, divide, and generate internal strife that corrodes the group's sense of dignity, resilience, and shared purpose.
Antizionist Jews are not accidental outliers—they are a logical component of a movement that hates Jewish collectivity (klal yisrael) and they serve as one of its primary lines of attack in an eliminationist effort to purge the world of Jewish nationhood.

When finally pressed, Zohran gives a complete non-answer, dodging a question he had plenty of time to answer. The reason? He knows if he gave his actual answer it would expose his hypocrisy.
Important voice.
Calls out a fraud.
A group of elitist Palestinian feminists wanted to flex their leftist principles and ideas on Gaza by holding a webinar on the “intersectionality” of “genocide, occupation, patriarchy, and feminist resistance against these structures.” The webinar flyer received widespread condemnation by large swaths of Palestinians in Gaza, especially women, some of whom I reached out to, seeking to understand their opposition to this online event.
The overwhelming sentiment was that these out-of-touch “feminists” represent the indirect alliance between leftist narratives and Hamas and Islamist ideologies when it comes to talking about “resistance.” The resistance that launched the war with the 10/7 attack, according to many women in Gaza, got them destroyed, humiliated, expelled from their homes, and subjected to abuse by elements of the “resistance” who extorted sexual favors for access to aid and money. This “resistance” decimated the privacy and sanctity of Gaza’s women and their spaces when it launched the 10/7 attack, which brought about women’s death, injury, displacement, and regression by decades.
Why weren’t any women who are actually in Gaza invited to join the discussion and speak about their plight? Why not acknowledge that the patriarchy is not just a cultural issue, but one that Hamas’s Islamist “resistance” entrenches, worsens, expands, and maintains? The singular focus on Israel, without any space or capacity to recognize the disaster that a terrorist organization like Hamas has brought upon Palestinian women in Gaza, is symptomatic of intellectual dishonesty, jingoism, unsophistication, decay, and regression, not progression.
The framing of the issue hijacks the narrative away from Gaza’s women. It skews the conversation toward useless academic discussions that have nothing to do with the suffering of the Strip’s female population. These latte elites don’t really appreciate what Gaza’s women really want: safety, security, the end of Islamist terrorism, the end of violence, a new social contract, and prosperity that can lead to societal transformation.
Gaza’s women can speak for themselves; they do not want folks in the West Bank or anywhere in the world to offer Western leftist-styled discussions on “intersectionality and patriarchy,” when they are sleeping in tents, have no access to water, bathrooms, showers, feminine hygiene products, privacy, healthcare, or secure sustenance.
Disturbing fact: one of the biggest Arab feminist pages on Twitter posted a eulogy of the head of Hamas in Gaza, Yahya Sinwar, after he was killed last year by the Israeli military – you know, because Gaza’s Taliban really cares about feminism and somehow does not intersect with patriarchy.

Concerns about Mamdani have nothing to do with Islamophobia. Not long ago, heavily Jewish Teaneck, New Jersey, a New York City suburb, had a Muslim mayor, Mohammed Hameeduddin, who served (twice, from 2010-2014 and from 2016-2020) with the full support of the Orthodox population that today completely identifies with the objections to Mamdani. This has nothing to do with religion and everything to do with attitudes and positions.

“Pure joy in the air” is how an Israeli journalist describes the mood in Israel right now.
But how could that be?
If the Israelis want, above all, genocide and ethnic cleansing, then why would they celebrate a deal that ends the war with no ethnic cleansing and 97% of the Gazans alive?
“Pure joy” is not what you feel when your deepest ambitions have just been thwarted.
It’s almost as if the goal of the war really was to get the hostages back and oust Hamas. It’s almost as if Israelis are motivated by a deep, dark desire to…live in peace with their neighbors.

10/7 was one of the most shameful days in the history of the Palestinian people; having Gaza and my beautiful people associated with the worst attack on the Jewish people since the Holocaust is a painful & awful tragedy that I & many Palestinians want nothing to do with ever. I wish more "pro-Palestine activists" would recognize and respect this and accept it as an actual fact and legitimate truth.
Barak Epstein retweeted
What caused Hamas to agree to give up its chief bargaining chip, the Israeli hostages, for phase 1 of the deal was the unprecedented pressure against the terror group from Turkey, Qatar, and Egypt. The Turks want sanctions relief, the F-35 stealth fighter, new F-16s, and greater cooperation with the US. The Qataris got the apology from Israel for the failed airstrike and the US commitment to Doha’s national security through a new agreement/pact, and in exchange, had to deliver the hostages, which means delivering Hamas. Egypt has been terrified of the specter of forced displacement of Gazans into Sinai, and its mobilization of the Egyptian army on the country’s eastern border raised tensions with Israel and threatened the peace treaty between the two countries, not to mention US foreign aid. Cumulatively, this meant that the three countries (Turkey, Qatar, and Egypt) applied enormous pressure on Hamas, which is isolated, militarily weakened, its allies defeated, and without options.

I have so many questions for Greta Thunberg after she shared the photo of Evytar David, thinking he was a Palestinian held in Israel.
Is the image of that starving man being forced to dig his own grave suddenly okay, Greta? Because it turns out he's the 'wrong' ethnicity?
Did you see his suffering and feel for him, only to learn about your mistake and go "Oh well that's fine then"?
When you thought he was Palestinian, did Evyatar's pain finally matter to you, Greta? Or was it always just a game to you?
