Learn how to recognise the signs of Domestic Violence Against Women and Girls. Look out for signs like isolation from friends and family, extreme jealousy, frequent criticism, and changes in behaviour or mood. Awareness is the first step to prevention. #16Days #PreventionFirst

If you're a woman, you're more likely to be killed by your partner than by smoke or from not wearing your seatbelt. Domestic abuse is the national emergency being ignored. As we step into 16 days we need your support to help us save lives: womensaid.org.uk/give/donate…

Statement from Councillor Sandra Walmsley - Cabinet Member for Communities & Inclusion about the incident at Manchester Airport.
ALT I am most disturbed by the video footage from an incident involving Greater Manchester Police at Manchester Airport yesterday in what appears to show a GMP officer assaulting a suspect while restrained on the ground. I wrote to Bury’s Chief Superintendent last night and have written to the Deputy Mayor of Greater Manchester today, to outline the concerns of the Council and our communities in Bury. Whilst I am pleased to see a referral has been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct, it’s important to recognise that we expect all GMP officers to carry out their duties to a high professional standard and in line with the law. We know the England team losing the #EURO2024 is the worst outcome for some, for others however it's the reality of waiting for their partner to come home.
Football doesn't cause #DomesticAbuse, abusers do.
