Everyone is upset at DeBoer for an “ass-chewing” that for the last week everyone has been celebrating Nick Saban for doing to players and coaches as he premiered his 500-part documentary on ESPN.

Hate to complain about officiating, but it is hard to put into words how bad tonight has been. Unbelievable. Proud of this team no matter what.

💯
Final Game Thoughts: 1. Defense must be better stopping the run. Too many run-fit issues. Front 7 didn’t have their best game. Too many explosives given up. Secondary still too inconsistent. 2. OL looked solid against a very good Georgia defense. Rushed for over 160 (17 is a dog). Kept the pocket clean for the most part outside of some of the blitzes they saw. 3. Feel we went away from the running game too quickly at times. Would’ve helped keep some drives from stalling. 4. UGA defense affected 12 by bringing pressure and giving him different looks on the back end. Forced him to make some youthful mistakes. Should be a good learning opportunity for him. 5. Gunnar Stockton deserves more credit. Made some incredible throws (18/22) and was clutch in the moments they needed him most. 6. Georgia did a nice job of controlling the tempo, limiting Alabama’s possessions. 7. Alabama much better in the field position battle this time around, forced Georgia to drive the field to earn their points. 8. Missed some opportunities to capitalize on some Georgia’s mistakes, which could’ve led to big swings. 9. Officiating unfortunately played a key role in some critical moments in this game. 5 can’t lose his cool in a critical moment like that. That said, he is human. Give him grace. 10. This team is tough and has some fire to them. Hard-fought battle against a great football team. They will learn and grow from this. Must find a way to flush this frustrating loss and move on to the next one. We will see them again down the road. All goals still ahead of us. Roll Tide.

Final thoughts before bed: - There are folks/creators who warned fans all week that if certain things didn’t happen, we could lose this game. If you’re listening to people who just tell you that Bama should beat everyone by 40 - that’s kinda on you. - Refs and mismanagement of this game certainly played a role. - Controlling what you can control is extremely important, but players and coaches did not do what they could in that respect to win the game. - I do think if this game is played again - which it likely will be - the outcome will be different. - Rational behavior beats out emotional responses every single time. - This is an extremely young football team who just took the #1 team in the country to the wire and lost only by a FG. Despite their youth, they are the SECOND BEST TEAM IN THE COUNTRY RIGHT NOW. - Losing Terrence Green hurt late in the game. - Alabama found success on the ground, running for 161 against a defense that only was giving up 57 a game. Felt like we got away from that too often. - A lot of learning will happen bc of this one…A LOT of growing up too. - All week we talked about fast pressure on Stockton. It did not happen. - Despite all the adversity- - Alabama still had an opportunity late to try and win but 5 pissed it away. An example needs to be made. - Alabama will be favored the rest of the way and 11-1 is a legit possibility- but the team really is in need of a Bye week. Injuries are starting to become a big concern. - This loss doesn’t feel as damning as others bc a certain level of physicality was shown that we haven’t seen for a couple of years. I think some of the staff changes in the off season we certainly the right ones. - For once after a loss - the sky isn’t falling. Georgia was a measuring stick to find out if this team could stick around with the best in the country and they can. Alabama, pending injuries, is a legit National Championship contender. Good night and Roll Tide always! Love you all
