Russia’s spring-summer “offensive” is still crawling. They’re throwing everything at the Donetsk Fortress Belt — Pokrovsk, Dobropillya, Kostyantynivka — trying to crack Slovyansk and Kramatorsk from the south and east. Small infantry groups sneak in, get shredded by drones, rinse, repeat. ISW says Ukrainian units actually pushed back near Dorozhnye and around Novyi Donbas in the last couple of days. Not a breakthrough, just the usual “we took a field, they took a shed” bullshit. Elsewhere: grinding around Lyman, Kupyansk, and the Sumy border. Russians claim they grabbed a couple of villages northeast of Sumy. Ukraine says “nope, still ours.” Classic. The real action isn’t even on the line of contact. Russia just ran a 28-hour drone-and-missile circus over Kyiv and the oblast. Hit an ammo warehouse near Myla, secondary explosions, at least 37 dead (including a local official who was helping with the rescue), dozens wounded, houses wrecked. Then last night they sent another wave of Shaheds at Kyiv, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia and Pavlohrad. Because nothing says “military genius” like blowing up civilians and warehouses at 3 a.m. Ukraine is hitting back deep: oil depots, retailer warehouses in Rostov, even a strategic bomber at Engels. Russia’s fuel situation is so pretty they extended the export ban. Funny how the “second army of the world” keeps running out of diesel while inventing new ways to lose men. Daily numbers from the Ukrainian General Staff: 220–240 clashes, thousands of drones, hundreds of glide bombs. Russian losses claimed around 1,400 a day. Whether you believe the exact figure or not, they’re burning through people like it’s going out of style. Bottom line: no collapse, no sudden collapse of the front, just another week of expensive, bloody stalemate with extra civilian funerals. Russia still can’t take the cities that matter without paying a price that would make a normal country stop. Ukraine still can’t kick them out without more stuff and more time.
