Celebrating 25 years of Ballet Black As part of their 25th anniversary celebrations, @BalletBlack took to the Sadler’s Wells stage last night {October 14} with a landmark double bill. Cassa Pancho brought Ballet Black, the UK and Europe’s first Black professional neoclassical ballet company, to life in 2001. The decision was as a response to the fact that at the time, no women of colour were performing in any of the UK’s ballet companies.
