疫情初期，姆巴佩曾公开为中国加油，大巴黎全队也穿上印有“中国加油”的球衣。那时候中国正面临疫情冲击，不是什么商业活动，更不是为了讨好中国市场的热闹场合，他甚至因此遭到过非议。
