VA 67 year old rule
The VA 67 year old rule refers to a number of options that could reduce or end VA disability benefits for veterans who reach the age of 67:
Stop Individual Unemployability (IU) payments
This option would end IU payments for veterans who are 67 or older,
and no new applicants of that age would be eligible. VA disability payments would then revert to the amount associated with the veteran's rated disability level.
Reduce disability compensation
This option would reduce disability compensation by 30% for veterans who start
disability compensation.
VA disability compensation is not means-tested, so veterans who work are eligible for benefits.
