British sovereign territory isn’t up for negotiation.
SHOCKING: Nigel Farage admits he would hand over the Chagos Islands. @KemiBadenoch is clear: The Chagos Islands are British, the Falkland Islands are British. There can be no negotiation.

Replying to @calvinrobinson
Christianity is not a flag to be wrapped around ethnic nationalism. The Gospel proclaims that every human being is made in the image of God and that our neighbour is never defined by race. To suggest that only Anglo-Christian men should govern or vote is to place exclusion where Christ commands love. I fear @calvinrobinson has lost sight of the Jesus he claims to serve.

Take: Had Quintin Hogg became Leader of the Conservative Party in 1963 instead of Alec Douglas-Home, he could have secured a majority for the Tories in 1964. xitter.cf/25YearsAgoLive/status/…

I'm sorry, is this dimwit suggesting that before I take my 2.5 hour, £100 flight to Rome, I should first take a 3.5 hour, £150 train ride to Manchester?

Hilarious that Reform people don’t want a ‘career politician’ (NB. Sir James is a lieutenant colonel in the army, lol) yet their entire political outfit hinges on one man who has been a politician for the best part of 40 years and has stood for Parliament over ten times
London does not want a career politician. he has jumped around from London to Essex when it best suits him. London deserves a candidate who will put londoners first not themself

The dogmatic obsession with the EU really is a bizarre feature of the modern Labour Party -- completely out of step with its history and, I would argue, any frank recognition of what's been happening (or about to happen) in the EU itself. The idea that we *must* be in the EU (and give up national economic planning powers) to grow betrays such a lack of imagination about economic policy. – at Winsford, England
Moving closer to the EU is “essential” to “stand proud in the world and secure growth”, says minister Bridget Phillipson. “It was over ten years ago now that our country voted for Brexit. It hasn't delivered the benefits that were promised." @BPhillipsonMP @JPonPolitics

This is so depressing. A Green Party election leaflet from Holborn and St Pancras wrapped in a foreign flag, boasting endorsements from The Muslim Vote and Camden Muslim Alliance. This is just naked sectarianism.

Me too. If I had my time as an undergraduate again, I’d study history.
I started out interested in political theory. Drifted into history of political thought, which is adjacent. But over the years I've come to the conclusion that an ounce of political history is worth a ton of political theory. What has actually happened is always the best guide

In reality, of course, the number of Lib Dem - Reform marginals is zero. What a vote for the Lib Dems is actually is a vote to stop the Conservatives (who ironically are the party far better placed to stop Reform). But Davey knows this line motivates his base, so misrepresents regardless.
🚨 WATCH: Ed Davey says Reform UK should know the Lib Dems "won't give up the fight" "We care, we fight, we care, we fight, we care, we fight!"

Britain is a Christian country, yet this image is a sad reminder that if we do not conserve our own faith and traditions, nobody else will. For the Archbishop of Canterbury to honour on the 25th anniversary of 9/11, a cleric who praised Bin Laden is a significant lapse. I’m pleased that Conservative shadow cabinet members @NJ_Timothy @Rebecca_SPaul discovered some of this information and called this out publicly, forcing the church to change its position. Yes, the church might have been ignorant of some facts, but the presence of a woman with a full face veil, covered head to toe, in an outfit widely known as a visible symbol of female oppression should have given pause for thought. Our Culture and Integration Commission was set up to end this sort of naive belief that all cultures are equal. No other party in British politics is doing this work to protect our culture.
