We machine & manufacture your carbs & parts as much as we can in-house but there are some things we can't do at our HQ, such as casting. We only outsource to authentic, quality British SMEs. Sylatech cast our brass choke levers & throttle arms using the lost-wax casting process.

Tradition never goes out of style! This stylish lady on the Amal assembly line in the 60s is building and testing MK1 Concentrics. Meanwhile one of our current colleagues is recreating the fashion of a bygone era while pressing pump valves on a machine from the original factory.

These old images show the temporary SU Carburetters factory in Shirley in 1942, following air raids in which the company had to relocate. The year these photos were taken also saw the launch of the SU 44-series of carburetters, developed for both the Merlin and Griffon engines.

Another cool find from Franz & Grubb Engine - thanks Dan for sending this to us! An original Amal carb jet plate manufactured by Webco, found from the original 1965 catalogue. A popular accessory in the US used in the 60s.

We're air testing our latest batch of needle valves for HIF44 carburetters. On our reliable testing kit our experts attach an airline to check if the valve shuts off correctly when it needs to - otherwise the carb will flood, causing damage, and even worse an engine fire.

Did you know our main jets and pilot jets are drilled and flow tested, and reamed and broached by hand to give the correct CC flow rate, all in-house in our factory? Keep your eyes on our page for a more in-depth look into what goes on behind the scenes in our jet room...

Our team are busy machining these popular Amal 930 carburetters in our Salisbury factory, ready for your classic bikes. We're proud our 100% UK-made carbs are crafted in-house by our experts, so we can maintain the high quality our customers know and love.

Working our way through a batch of HS Jet assemblies (.090in) for HS type SU carbs. Once these are built, each jet is tested under pressure to ensure that they won't leak fuel. Just one of the stringent tests we do within our in-house production!
