When they say they saved the best for last, I just watched the proof. The future is bright in Maryland hoops. My final game of the 7th Annual East Coast Showcase by @BTHoopsNation was a backyard brawl between Arise Above and New World 2030 playing for the Varsity championship, and it delivered from start to finish. This one was all about runs and resilience. New World jumped out early and looked poised to take control, building a 20-13 halftime lead with confidence and energy. But Arise Above came out of the break with a different edge, going to work inside, flipping the momentum, and turning it into a fight. New World never backed down. The young group showed grit, skill, and toughness, staying right there and battling until the final buzzer. But Arise Above’s poise and composure down the stretch made the difference, closing out a hard-earned 43-41 win. Arise Above was led by #10 @1Lor.Justin(IG), who set the tone with 15 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 steals, making big plays when it mattered most. New World was led by #5 @_.joaquimm._(IG) with 12 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 steals, bringing relentless energy and keeping his team in the fight the whole way.

The 15U championship of the 7th Annual East Coast Showcase by @BTHoopsNation was an absolute barn burner between RL Elite and Owen Gaither, a relentless battle from the opening tip to the final buzzer. Clutch shot-making, scrappy defense, and high-intensity energy on both ends had this one feeling like a true championship fight. Owen Gaither held a hard-fought 24-20 lead at the half, but the second half turned up even more with both teams trading big plays and keeping the crowd locked in. RL Elite kept battling and made it tough, but Owen Gaither stayed composed and made the plays needed down the stretch to pull away. In the end, Owen Gaither secured the 43-35 win behind #1 @Tuffleftyhooper1 (IG), who led the way with 19 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals, stepping up in the biggest moments. RL Elite was led by #1 @Tae2Active(IG), who finished with 13 points, 4 rebounds, and a steal, bringing toughness and energy throughout.

My next highlighted game at the 7th Annual East Coast Showcase by @BTHoopsNation brought another fierce battle as Arise Above took on MD Shooters 2028, and this one turned into a gritty back-and-forth fight. Arise Above set the tone early with physical play and confident shot-making, controlling the pace and building a strong 25-12 halftime lead. They were aggressive on both ends and made the MD Shooters work for everything. But the second half flipped the energy. MD Shooters showed real resilience, turning up the intensity and making it a dogfight. They battled on every possession, cut into the lead, and forced Arise Above to earn every bit of that 42-35 win. The second half was full of energy and momentum swings, making it fun to watch. Arise Above was led by #10 @1Lor.Justin (IG), who finished with 14 points, 9 rebounds, and a steal, setting the tone inside. Teammate @JustinBootothh (IG) added 10 points and 8 rebounds, bringing strong support. MD Shooters had a balanced effort, but #0 @Maricknorton20 (IG) stood out with his fierce play and edge, finishing with 8 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 steals to spark that second-half push.

My next game of Championship Sunday at the 7th Annual East Coast Showcase by @BTHoopsNation brought a high-energy matchup between Team Maryland Albury and RL Elite Green, and from the tip, you could feel this one had some edge to it. RL Elite Green came out firing early with hot shooting and smooth ball movement, creating clean looks and building momentum quickly. They controlled the first half and took a strong 30-15 lead into the break, setting the pace with confidence and execution. But the second half turned into a real fight. Team Maryland found their rhythm and came alive with relentless energy, chipping away at the lead possession by possession. Big shots started falling, the intensity picked up, and suddenly the game tightened as they cut it down to 9 and had all the momentum. RL Elite never folded, though. They stayed composed, answered key runs, and made just enough plays down the stretch to hold control and secure a 53-41 win. #10 @Jahmeir_._ led the way for RL Elite with a dominant all-around performance, finishing with 21 points, 8 rebounds, 3 blocks, and a steal, impacting the game on every level. Team Maryland was led by #4 Stephen Ferguson (@SFlone_), who brought the spark with 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 steals, fueling that second-half push. This one had everything—runs, energy, and momentum swings—and both teams showed why they were worth the watch.

My first game of Championship Sunday at the 7th Annual East Coast Showcase by @BTHoopsNation featured a 13U G2 bracket matchup between New Day 13U and Olney Elite 2030, and from the jump Olney made it clear they came ready. Olney exploded out the gate with suffocating defense that completely disrupted New Day’s rhythm, turning turnovers into easy buckets and controlling the tempo. That pressure led to a commanding 34-13 halftime lead and set the tone for the rest of the game. The second half brought more of the same as Olney never let up. New Day showed some fight and got a few shots to fall, but they were never able to close the gap as Olney stayed aggressive and pulled away for a 47-22 win. #11 @heyybouba (IG) led Olney with 14 points, 5 steals, and 4 rebounds, impacting the game on both ends. New Day was led by #29 @_heyyjayy0 (IG) with 7 points, 7 rebounds, and a steal, continuing to battle despite the deficit.

My second game of Championship Sunday at the 7th Annual East Coast Showcase by @BTHoopsNation may have been a bracket play game, but Arise Above 15U made it feel like much more with the way they showed up and set the tone. Just like the other Arise Above squads, they came in waves. The energy was high, the toughness stood out, and the defense was fierce from the opening tip. They made life difficult for Team Attack 2029 on every possession, forcing mistakes and turning them into points. That pressure built a strong 22-8 lead at the half and never let Team Attack find any kind of rhythm. The second half was more of the same as Arise Above stayed aggressive, matched their first half output, and cruised to a 44-22 win without ever letting up. They were powered by a strong one-two punch led by #0 Abesari WMichael (@abesariwm.13 -IG), who filled it up with 14 points, 8 rebounds, 2 steals, and 2 assists, controlling the game on both ends. Justin Greene (justin_e_greene-IG) added 11 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, and 2 steals, bringing consistent production and energy. Team Attack was led by #8 Wyatt Kuhle with 6 points, 4 rebounds, a block, and a steal, continuing to compete despite the pressure. Arise Above made another clear statement, bringing intensity, depth, and a relentless style that’s tough for any team to handle.

My next highlighted game at the 7th Annual East Coast Showcase by @BTHoopsNation was another intriguing matchup between MD Shooters 2028 and New World, but it didn’t take long to feel like something different was unfolding. From the jump, New World looked like one of the most complete teams seen so far. Disciplined, active, skilled, and with the perfect blend of size and speed, they played with a smooth, poised rhythm that never really let up. They wasted no time setting the tone, building a 21-12 lead by the half behind crisp ball movement, strong defensive pressure, and a clear understanding of how they wanted to control the game. And what stood out most was that they never took their foot off the gas. The second half felt like a chance for MD Shooters to make a push, but even when New World went to the bench, there was no drop off. The energy stayed high, the execution stayed sharp, and they kept stacking stops and buckets until it turned into a 41-28 statement win. #20 Kendall Hancock (@kendall11_h-IG) led the way with 13pts, 3rebs, and a steal, playing under control while picking his spots and making it look easy. On the other side, #10 Dominic Bailey (@_dominicbailey-IG) showed why he stands out, finishing with 16pts, 7rebs, and a block. A crafty wing with a smooth touch, strong footwork, and a nonstop motor, he kept competing and finding ways to produce even against a tough, disciplined group. New World just looked different this game, connected, confident, and deep.

My next highlighted game at the 7th Annual East Coast Showcase by @BTHoopsNation was one I had circled from the jump, Arise Above vs RL Elite varsity, and it absolutely delivered. Two loaded squads, both coming in with something to protect, and neither one backing down. From the tip, it was a straight battle. Bucket for bucket, stop for stop, each team answering the other like they were looking each other dead in the eye, saying not today. The energy was high, the intensity even higher, and it showed with a 23-23 tie at the half. The second half didn’t slow down either. Same back-and-forth feel, same toughness on both ends, and neither side giving an inch. But with about four minutes left, Arise Above found that extra gear. They grabbed the lead, and this time they locked in and refused to let it slip away. RL Elite kept fighting, but just couldn’t quite break through down the stretch as Arise Above closed it out with a hard-fought 45-38 win. #3 Justin Watkins-Best (@justinwatbest-IG) led the way for Arise Above with 14pts, 3stls, 2rebs, and 2ast, making plays on both ends and stepping up when it mattered most. RL Elite was led by #2 Lamarion Wilmore (@marsold4-IG), who finished with 15pts, 6rebs, and 2stls, battling all game and keeping his team right there. High-level hoop, high-level competitors, and a game that felt like it could’ve gone either way until those final minutes.
