⁦@BoltonSch⁩ are also repeating the act of remembrance we performed at 100 years for 110. We place a Tower of London poppy into the display for each fallen soldier on the 100th anniversary. There are now 3. bbc.com/news/articles/cy87gq…

Today marks 110 years since the first OB was killed in action during WW1. In 2014 #BoltonSch bought ceramic Tower of London Poppies for each of the OBs who gave their lives. Over the next 4 years we will commemorate them by adding the poppies to a display in the Riley Centre.

Some of the 7E projects - I was the most impressed with the excellent feedback given from pupils to pupils. They used the positivity sandwich approach by starting with a WWW, then an EBI and then another WWW 🌎 @BoltonSch @Philip_Britton @LynneDKyle @BSGDLowerSchool @BSGDHistory

Nicholas Winton helped 669 Jewish children escape the Nazis. His efforts went unrecognized for 50 years. Then in 1988, while sitting as a member of a TV audience, he suddenly found himself surrounded by the kids he’d rescued, now adults. I like to remember this every Jan 27th.

Bolton School recently hosted the local heat of the Historical Association (HA) Great Debate competition: 10 students from 6 schools took part, including students from #BSBD6thForm & #BSGD6thForm. Well done to Nathan #BSBDY12 who goes on to the next heat! #BoltonCuriosity #BSBDHistory #BSGDHistory ➡️ ow.ly/JEtp50UpK3i

It was great to welcome Lucy back into a Politics classroom - it doesn’t seem so long ago, and yet so much had changed.
It was wonderful to welcome inspiring Old Girl, journalist and podcaster Lucy Parkinson-Baxter (Class of 2017) back to deliver the annual Presentation Evening address. #BoltonInspire #BoltonAlumni Read about or re-watch Presentation Evening here: boltonschool.org/news/2024-1…

On this day in 1066, William Duke of Normandy defeats England's King Harold II near Hastings. Although fewer than 20,000 combatants take part in the battle, its outcome echoes down through the ages.

This 500-year-old portrait may seem ordinary, but it's one of the most mysterious in history. There's so much detail that you can read every musical note on this small page. But look closer — an unsettling secret is hiding in plain sight... 🧵
