I've just realised that in The Phantom of the Opera, the managers scoff over a danger in the opera house, remain in denial when things get worse, and when people start dying, insist the rest get back to work ASAP. Are you sure these two guys weren't both named Donald Trump?
Need help applying for ACE Emergency Funds? Want to share questions, advice and ideas with us and Bristol artists? We're holding a Zoom meeting next week and will be booking 1:1 advice sessions with the TB team and others including @ActionHeroLive + @LizGClarke
"Zoom, just when look and then me heart went...hmmm". TECH HELP. Any ideas on ARTISTIC use of video meetings? e.g choose just a few people in vision, move their screen order, like chairs in a studio theatre. Seems basic. Is this out there? Cheap/free web-based, ideally. Thanks🤓

Terrence McNally has died of complications due to coronavirus. His 'Kiss Of The Spiderwoman' libretto (music/lyrics Kander & Ebb) was one highpoint: In prison in Argentina, gay window dresser Molina makes 'movies' in his head to survive. What a scene. youtube.com/watch?v=YKs2GaDL…

It has been one week since we made the heartbreaking decision to close our beautiful theatre, but the generosity, kindness and support we have received from everyone has been absolutely amazing and we could not be more grateful! So from all of us to all of you: THANK YOU! 🥰

Wow, try what David says. If any writer did this, the note would come back "Too 'on the nose' ". 😵
Rapunzel. The Disney Princess bound by isolation in a tower. Go and Google where she lives. Go on. I’ll wait.
A young Stephen Sondheim's lyrics revisited in this fantastic documentary about the making of 'West Side Story'. The show was nearly abandoned during its pre-Broadway run. Backstage drama aplenty! 10pm on BBC4, or catch it on iplayer. bbc.co.uk/programmes/b086kfb…
It's a year since Andrew Lloyd Webber came to @bristololdvic to see MR MAGLUMP, an exquisite musical by super talent @brooktatearts (left in pic with our great @BOVTS cast & ALW). It was an entry to our yearly 'Open Session' writer search; more Musical Theatre news next week. 🎵

Did a double take seeing this on our website on Monday - like a title for something we'd programme: aerial silks in a circus show; levitation in a magic show. It will be again!
