Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler now says gas tear gas is bad after getting a photo op for national press. He has been gassing crowds himself for years. Minutes after he left, his police threatened to gas the crowd if it did not disperse.

But this was nothing new for protesters who’ve experienced the same attacks coming from the Portland Police Bureau—an agency Wheeler directly oversees—for the past 55 days.
