Perfect and perhaps a Goldilocks day @keeneland today--not too hot, not too cold.
This is a great event to share with friends and family. With @bradlacefield & @hplace123 I get to do both!!!
House took more from me than I took from them.......but it was a winning day!

Today we honored a legend & sent him to his final reward.
Billy Ray Smith was a legend, a mentor, & a friend.
I’m proud that at the last speech I gave from an appointed position, he & my father were in the front row. Wish WH & FP had been there too.
I live in their shadow!
Tomorrow we will lay to rest a Kentucky Ag Legend, Commissioner Billy Ray Smith.
He and my father were close friends.
Dr Garry Lacefield & Commissioner Billy Ray Smith.......2 Giants in KY Agriculture.

On October 11th, 1966, Todd Daniel Snider was born in Portland, Oregon. Prior to his untimely death from pneumonia at age 59 in November 2025, the singer-songwriter spent three decades blazing his own colorful trail through alt-country music. A one-time member of Jimmy Buffett’s Coral Reefer band, Snider released 17 albums throughout his lifetime, including 2004’s much-lauded East Nashville Skyline. He styled himself after great songwriting raconteurs like Billy Joe Shaver, Kris Kristofferson, John Prine, and Guy Clark, gaining a fanbase with his wry humor, deft storytelling skills, and keen insights into the human condition.

Vacation reads that delivered: The Final Score ( @donwinslow) & Table for Two (@amortowles ). Different styles, same gift-ordinary scenes (diner coffee, a bread line, a theater seat & old/new Hollywood) made vivid, characters you believe & choices that make you examine your own.

We've been here a week or so,
Now it's finally time to go.
Can't believe how quickly time has flown,
Packin' up the bathin' suits,
Getting out the cowboy boots,
That's a sign we must be going home...."
