2nd clip is without a doubt a penalty to @IrishRugby and can’t fathom why this wasn’t rewarded. The Irish pack is clearly moving forward and dominant, with @ProperChurch having his opposite in all sorts of trouble. On top of this @ProperChurch fights hard to save his bind as the French T-head’s bind is illegal and pulling him downwards. At the end the @FranceRugby T-head collapses inwards due to pressure, a clear penalty to Ireland. @SixNationsRugby
Clip 1 is a penalty against Ireland on their own ball for collapsing. For me @IrishRugby get a great hit on the engage sequence, especially on Porter’s side and feel Antonio is under pressure and the French hooker can’t get his hips through which means they can’t recover. The ref doesn’t have the luxury of the top view but you can clearly see French T-head and hooker hinging down first due to them not getting across the line and the great engage from Ireland. The French pack were under pressure here and got lucky, for me is at the very least a reset and stern talking with the French front row to take the hit and fight to stay up. @SixNationsRugby @FranceRugby
A big talking point was the set piece in regards to the @SixNationsRugby encounter between @IrishRugby and @FranceRugby and if the Irish had the pack to match them. Well the Irish more than answered that question in the lineout, which was superb! The scrum however was under pressure at times, but I think the Irish fought hard and deserved a lot more reward here than they received. I discuss two scrums in my post to follow, where I explain why I feel the Irish should’ve got a penalty, and one scrum they were unlucky to get one against.

It promises to be a bumper week of action in the @Pinergy @Munsterrugby Schools Senior Cup at the newly named @VirginMediaIE Park, with Semi Final Qualifiers and Quarter Final Eliminators to take place this week.
Tomorrow will see action from SFQ2 between @CBC_rugby and @StMunchinsSport, that kicks off at 2pm.
Wednesday is a double header in the Quarter Final Eliminators, QFE1 will see @rockwellcollege take on @GlenstalSchool with a 12:45pm kick-off, with QFE2 pitting @bandongrammar against @ArdscoilRisLimk that is at 3:15pm.
Finally on Thursday, defending champions @Cork_PBC get their campaign underway in SFQ1 against @SjCrescent at 12:30pm.

Someone asked me to do a piece on why the L-Head hides his/her shoulder behind the hooker at scrum time and why I say it’s not always an advantage.
