It mustโ€™ve been around this time that โ€˜00s UK guitar indie radically declined into landfill. Bands with less substance than what had come before suddenly pushed forward. Case & point being The Automatic who were truly awful ๐Ÿ˜‚ (โ€˜Monsterโ€™ was fun on a night out in fairness)
NME OTD 20 years ago.. Saw The Automatic in a small place on a random trip to Sunderland via a quick look in the NME gig guide. Then ended up at a club night with The Futureheads. Good times. @theautomatic

While other festivals have started releasing their lineups, thereโ€™s been little word on next yearโ€™s TRNSMT. Will they still pull something out the bag? Could a T in the Park return be on the cards? Or maybe something else? Scotland needs a decent major festival ๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ

Primavera Barcelona looks absolutely stacked. Iโ€™m thinking of doing the Porto leg of Primavera a week after. Anyone with any idea how similar a line up that will be? Same headliners?

Happy Fat Dog release day to all those who celebrate. Three listens down today and itโ€™s stronger overall than their debut WOOF. (minus a couple of the high points). Fantastic record.

What kind of prices are folk paying for Oasis next year? Was supposed to be not as expensive as last year but Iโ€™m hearing thatโ€™s not the case ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

A few shouts from me: Reef - Put your hands up (you want to place your hands on my what? ๐Ÿ˜ณ) Toploader - Dancing in the Moonlight (ugh, just awful) Scissor Sisters - I donโ€™t feel like Dancinโ€™ (fake wedding song pish) Queen - Donโ€™t stop me now*
Whatโ€™s the actual Worst Song Ever? Like if you died and went to hell, what song would be playing on a loop?

*in an act of โ€˜hilariousโ€™ edginess, a popular girl in school printed the lyrics to this song on her 18th bโ€™day invitations. Confirmed what an utterly wank song it is. And no I wasnโ€™t invited but someone left the invitation lying around the common room ๐Ÿ˜†

Aw man just thought of some more. Catfish and the Bottlemen - โ€˜7โ€™ (the worst kind of banal indie) Scouting for Girls - sheโ€™s so lovely Starship - โ€˜We built this cityโ€™ might be the worst of the lot.

Looking forward to seeing the film but thatโ€™s a disappointing review. Interested to hear more about the reconciliation and it seems like they donโ€™t really linger on it.

Not gonna lie, on listen down on the new Strokes album and Iโ€™m digging a lot of it. Just need to get over the autotune! What is everyone else thinking?
