Is this why City Hall bypassed public hearing rezoning historical Old Town and increased density? We think it's one of the reasons. Songhees are part of the Hotel Development Group, alongside Aryze & Cascadia Partners. No disrespect, but this is why you have public hearings.
Behind closed doors, with no public announcement, the Province under NDP is transferring the Wharf Street parking lot to the Songhees. British Columbians deserve a vote. Governments should not give away iconic public land without public consent, no vote, nothing. @westernstandard
We have not been focused on the provincial election as we should have - that is also the issue with overlapping elections.
The political turbulence and noise is deafening and essentially drowned out local elections that deserved public scrutiny and attention.

Election Bias on Full Display - Victoria’s 2026 election was administered by officials who had a personal stake in its outcome, and the City’s accounts of what went wrong have conflicted. Every missing vote must be counted; lest we are a banana republic.

Did any city staff work on the campaign of Marianne Alto? @VoteYYJWilliams Any thoughts?
May we all have someone like this mother, who will drop everything to be with her loved one in their time of need.

Worth noting for Victoria voters: about 2,300 mail-in ballots were delayed in a Canada Post warehouse, CP24 reported, and voters were told to return them to any voting place or the City Hall drop box. Results remain unofficial until declared. canadanewsmedia.ca/alto-re-e…
Something not right about the election in Victoria.
Also think Stephen Andrew had a hand in thwarting an opposition majority.
The dark side of Victoria politics are the invisible people pulling the strings.
Today Victoria - you can effect change in your city by getting out and voting. Do not take this for granted.
Change is possible. Do not go gently.

The city put another shelter in Burnside neighbourhood it was promised would get no more, then told residents the city had no room for anyone else.
Where is the respect for Burnside Gorge?
We dig into the track record of Mayor Alto and Council.

Soo this car is circling around the entrance to municipal voting stations.
Isn’t that illegal?
Has Victoria been sabotaged by its own city staff on mail in ballots? No one wins when democracy does not work. City staff who also want a change in mayor and council are also being let down.

This is on you @David_Eby. Harm reduction is harm enablement.
Victoria's Mayor Marianne Alto is running on delivering housing. Did she?
Or did she just keep developers building?
Density, no public hearings, heritage scrapped.

We are hearing from multiple sources that City of Victoria staff are visiting old folks homes with voting ballots?
Are they pushing the Victoria Labour Council - who they endorsed?
