This morning, I met with BC Public Library Partners to understand their advocacy in increasing support to our public libraries in B.C. Libraries are beyond just a place for books; they are supporting our loved ones through their services. We will continue to work together. – at Victoria, British Columbia

Thank you to President @BarackObama for supporting libraries and the freedom to read. And thank you to all library workers on the front lines "fighting every day to make the widest possible range of viewpoints, opinions, and ideas available to everyone." #UniteAgainstBookBans
Today, some of the books that shaped my life—and the lives of so many others—are being challenged by people who disagree with certain ideas or perspectives. And librarians are on the front lines, fighting every day to make the widest possible range of viewpoints, opinions, and ideas available to everyone.

Toronto Public Library is right to allow someone I profoundly disagree with a place to speak thestar.com/opinion/star-col… It would have been all too predictable for an institution like the library to deny a controversial speaker the right to use its space.
