Morwenna had a great day at the Royal Welsh Agricultural Show at the launch of the Bangor University Forestry Alumni Association 🌲
A fantastic opportunity to reconnect with forestry alumni, meet recent graduates, and hear from distinguished Bangor alumni across the sector!
Morwenna recently visited the orchards and production site of Silver Rom Agro near Iași, Romania 🍅
The visit provided an opportunity for the Welsh, Portuguese and Romanian project partners to meet, discuss progress, and explore the practical aspects of the #Val2Food project.
Excited to see this project coming to fruition as Grown in Britain launches the UK’s first certification scheme for quantifying biogenic carbon storage in buildings 🌲
The new BSCQ will help verify long-term carbon storage in the built environment.

Turning waste into colour ♻️🍄
Dr Paul Baker has been exploring how biomass waste streams can produce natural pigments. Progress to date has laid the foundations for a new industry to exploit this innovative idea.
Part of the Waste4Colour project funded by the Welsh Government
Qiuyun represented the BioComposites Centre at the Materials Research Exchange 2026, attending key sessions and networking with researchers, industry leaders and innovators.
Great to see our team actively engaging with such an important event in the UK materials community 👏
A great way to start 2026 with a published mini-review from Paul and colleagues at the BioComposites Centre!
It can be used for biofuels, enzymes & fertiliser, supporting circular bio-based systems 🍄🟫
Well done to Paul and the team on this output.
