Big milestone for Blue Collar Apprentice.
Yesterday was my biggest Amazon Associates order and order revenue day so far.
20 items ordered, $3k order revenue, in one day.
BCA is only about 5 months old, but this journey started way before the site launched.
I joined Amazon Associates back in August 2024.
For months, nothing.
No orders.
No commissions.
No proof it would work.
My first Amazon Associates order didn’t come until April 2026.
Almost 20 months later.
Most people only see the small win when it finally shows up.
They don’t see the months of building with no signal.
Since launching BCA, I’ve kept building:
→ apprenticeship guides
→ skilled trades tool pages
→ safety resources
→ practice tests
→ program directory pages
→ content for people trying to start real careers
The money is still small.
But the proof is getting stronger.
Every click, order, email signup, program inquiry, and thank-you message is a reminder that consistency compounds.
Sometimes the scoreboard stays at zero while the foundation is being poured.
Keep building anyway.
Grateful for everyone using and sharing BCA.

America is short roughly 300,000 skilled trades workers.
That shortage is also an opportunity.
Electricians. Plumbers. HVAC techs. Welders. Linemen. And more.
The next generation of skilled workers doesn’t need more debt — they need more pathways into apprenticeships.

Question for experienced tradespeople:
What is one thing apprentices should stop wasting money on?
A lot of beginners want to do the right thing.
They want to show up prepared.
They want to look serious.
But without guidance, it is easy to spend money on the wrong gear too early.
Sometimes the smarter move is buying better PPE.
Sometimes it is buying better boots.
Sometimes it is waiting until the job actually requires the tool.
BCA’s tools section is built to help apprentices start smarter and avoid unnecessary purchases.

One underrated apprentice lesson:
The weather does not care that you are new.
Hot days.
Cold mornings.
Rain.
Wind.
Mud.
Concrete.
Attics.
Roofs.
Outdoor sites.
Your tools matter, but your workwear and jobsite gear matter too.
Apprentices should think about:
→ layers
→ rain gear
→ breathable shirts
→ durable pants
→ gloves for conditions
→ boots that match the work
→ sun protection
→ water and hydration
→ extra socks
→ keeping gear dry
Being uncomfortable all day makes it harder to learn.
BCA’s workwear guide helps apprentices think through jobsite clothing before wasting money.

Apprentice money-saving tip:
Do not buy specialty tools just because someone online said you need them.
Ask these questions first:
→ Does my program require it?
→ Will my employer provide it?
→ Will I use it in my first few months?
→ Is it trade-specific or job-specific?
→ Can I borrow or observe before buying?
→ Is PPE more urgent?
→ Will a basic version work for now?
A lot of apprentices waste money trying to build a journeyman-level setup before they understand the work.
Start with the essentials.
Build slowly.
BCA’s tools section helps apprentices think through what to buy first by trade.

Buy tools with purpose.
Not pressure.

A new apprentice who can find what they need quickly is easier to work with.
A tool bag should help you:
→ carry tools safely
→ protect your investment
→ avoid losing small items
→ move efficiently
→ keep essentials accessible
→ reduce clutter
→ look prepared
The wrong bag becomes a daily frustration.
The right bag quietly makes your workday easier.

A small hand injury can turn into a big problem fast.
That is why apprentices should take gloves seriously.
Not all gloves are the same.
Some are built for grip.
Some for cuts.
Some for heat.
Some for impact.
Some for dexterity.
Some for cold or wet conditions.
The wrong glove can make work harder.
The right glove can help protect your hands while still letting you work effectively.

New apprentices: what feels like the hardest first purchase?
A. Work boots
B. Tool bag
C. PPE
D. Trade-specific hand tools
