Sad sad news. One of the most entertaining broadcasters around…
It’s with sadness I share news from Conor Bradford’s family that Conor passed away yesterday. An interviewer with a unique style, a master of both TV and radio presentation and superb social company, he held the lunchtime radio slot together during some of the worst times.

Absolutely devastated to hear of my friend Stephen Walker’s passing. We knew each other for 35 years. He was such a fun person to be with, a loyal friend, an all-round decent guy and a fantastic journalist. We had a lot of laughs together. You’ll be missed Stephen. RIP.

Sharon was lovely. One of BBC NI’s most difficult days…..
Our newsroom has lost both Stephen Walker and Sharon Bradford today. Two wonderful colleagues and two of the best of people gone far too soon. All my thoughts and sympathy to their families. A sad day.

Everyone at Ballymena United Football Club is saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Stephen Walker. Known as a prominent politicial journalist and critically acclaimed author, Stephen was a fanatical Sky Blue at heart and a regular supporter of the team both home and away. Stephen last season hosted our popular fan's forum event and was in regular contact with the club's Board of Directors as to how he could continue to volunteer his expertise and his learnings to assist and benefit the club, such was the measure of the man. Our collective thoughts are with the entire Walker family and his many friends at this sad time. 💙

I know this was one of Stephen’s favourite moments. The day La Lumley met a legend and I don’t mean the one on the right….

This is such sad news. Stephen was one of Dad’s best friends, and was such a fixture of my childhood. He even made the trip to Yorkshire for our wedding, where he proved very popular with the rest of his table. I was very fond of him. God rest him

Stephen Walker. Friend, colleague, investigative journalist, author, Sky Blues, Utd, comic, brilliant mimic (Paisley a speciality) Tunnocks Tea Cakes (anything sweet so long as it was Tunnocks). Too sad. Sleep well Sham
