Big shout out to all the research nurses and data administrators at all sites, past and present. The research nurses tirelessly screen for eligible participants, consent, collect samples and collect data. Without them, none of this would be possible. Thank you!

2/3 Now for  the important work of follow-up, data cleaning and analysis.  So exciting! 4+ years of hard work recruiting! What a team!

1/3 Well we did it! @BATCH_trial We opened first site @AHFTResearch 11/6/18,  and recruited our final and 1942 nd pt today at @UHSFT. 5 Secretaries of State for Health , 3 Prime Ministers, Brexit, and a pandemic,  but we still managed to reach target! Well done everyone!

PCT demonstrates good kinetics in response to effective antimicrobial therapy. @BATCH_trial will tell us whether it can safely reduce IV antibiotic use, if it is cost-effective, and if clinicians will use and adhere to PCT algorithms to guide clinical decisions.

@Pronto_Trial will start recruiting soon, adults with suspicion of sepsis in the ED, using POCT procalcitonin and NEWS2 to stratify risk and guide clinical decisions. Not all suspicion of sepsis needs IV antibiotics within an hour.@LivUni_IVES @LivUni @CTRCardiffUni
