BADEA President Discusses Prospects for Strengthening Development Cooperation with Senegal H.E. Mr. Abdullah KH ALMUSAIBEEH, @BADEAPRESIDENT, received H.E. Mr. Birame Mbagnick Diagne, Ambassador of the Republic of Senegal to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, accompanied by his delegation, at BADEA’s headquarters in Riyadh. The meeting focused on prospects for strengthening development cooperation between BADEA and Senegal, exploring opportunities to support priority development projects aligned with the country’s development priorities, while reaffirming the importance of continued coordination and dialogue in advancing the longstanding development partnership between the two sides. The meeting builds on decades of development cooperation between BADEA and Senegal. Since the beginning of this partnership, BADEA has financed 107 development operations and projects in Senegal, with a total value of approximately US$1.18 billion, supporting key sectors including infrastructure, agriculture, fisheries, food security and basic services, while contributing to employment and sustainable economic development.

BADEA President Participates in High-Level Dialogue on Expanding Investment Pathways for African Ventures H.E. Mr. Abdullah KH ALMUSAIBEEH, @BADEAPRESIDENT, participated in the high-level dialogue “Closing the Early-Stage Capital Gap,” convened by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in partnership with the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF), on the margins of the 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York. The dialogue brought together senior representatives from governments, development finance institutions, investors and African ventures to explore practical pathways for expanding access to early-stage institutional capital, while examining how financing, guarantees, technical assistance and investment partnerships can work more effectively together to support the growth of promising African ventures and their access to follow-on capital. BADEA’s participation reflects its continued commitment to contributing to Africa’s development finance ecosystem and strengthening partnerships that advance investment, support the private sector and unlock new opportunities for African ventures and economies.

BADEA Joins Global Dialogue on the Future of Education H.E. Mr. Abdullah KH ALMUSAIBEEH, @BADEAPRESIDENT, delivered a keynote address at the high-level event “Unlocking the Future of Education Together,” convened by the @GPforEducation on the sidelines of the 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York. BADEA and Equatorial Guinea Sign Two Strategic Agreements to Advance Sustainable Development As part of the official visit of the BADEA delegation, led by H.E. Mr. Abdullah KH ALMUSAIBEEH, @BADEAPRESIDENT , to the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, BADEA and the Government of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea signed two strategic agreements that reflect the depth of their partnership and their shared commitment to supporting the country's development agenda and advancing sustainable development. The first agreement provides financing for the Electrification Project of Ciudad de la Paz, the new administrative capital of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, in support of the Government's efforts to develop the city into a modern administrative hub and complete the relocation of government institutions and agencies. The project is expected to strengthen the country's energy infrastructure, improve the delivery of essential services, support economic and social development, and enhance the city's attractiveness for investment. The second agreement supports the participation of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea in the capital increase of the Shelter Afrique Development Bank, reinforcing the institution's role in financing affordable housing and sustainable urban development projects across Africa. It also reflects the Republic of Equatorial Guinea's commitment to supporting continental initiatives aimed at addressing housing challenges and improving the quality of life in African cities. These two agreements underscore BADEA's commitment to financing strategic projects with sustainable development impact and strengthening effective partnerships with African countries, contributing to enhanced infrastructure, economic growth, and an enabling environment for investment and inclusive development.
