How's that "Vicar of Christ" and "Supreme Pontiff of the Universal Church" thing going? When the man in "Saint Peter's Chair" blatantly contradicts and teaches against God's Own repeated standards on the issue of Capital Punishment (as well as church history!) it tells you everything you need to know about Rome's claims to being Apostolic and the church that faithfully preserves the original faith. If the "Vicar of Christ" on earth can so obviously contradict God on Capital Punishment, why would we believe he (and Rome) hasn't done it regarding salvation?
