Finland is planning to deploy 1 Million landmines at the borders with Russia with first delivery coming by 2027. This is a regrettable decision by the Orpo Government and a sign that Finland is preparing for a war-scenario with Russia. I strongly oppose this decision and I call for Finland to return to the Ottawa Treaty. Borders remain closed with Russia and these are having big effects on the Finnish economy. Such decision only create more hostilities with the neighbor Russia and do not help solve tensions. Russia does not have any plan or intention to invade Finland and such measures are unnecessary and dangerous.
